Scored in this grade on a similar surface in June (7f). Has virtually refused to race on his two starts since and his last two wins have come off a mark of 82, so obvious reasons to be fearful.
Improved throughout 2017 and showed he handles a soft surface. Good effort at Newcastle last time and a 4lb rise is not excessive given the improvement provided by the cheekpieces.
Below the mark which brought success in better company at Sandown last year. Handles the ground and shaped as though the extra furlong would suit when chasing home Berkshire Boy here in June.
Best form has come over shorter on faster ground. Fourth of five over this trip at Chelmsford on Tuesday and has too much to prove.
Shaped well in Ireland last time despite the drying ground and a lack of daylight. In calmer waters here over a more suitable trip and with conditions expected to be much slower. Notable jockey booking so has plenty going for him.
Had dropped to a really low mark when ending a long losing sequence at Newmarket. Got the run of the race there but not disgraced on an unfavoured surface off this mark next time.

Jumira Bay, Fox Trotter and Woody Bay have gone well lately and look reasonably treated with conditions turning favourable. On this occasion it may pay to side with GIBENO who is less exposed and who ran better than expected at the Curragh last time when conditions turned faster than ideal. He did not get the best of runs that day but was staying on well and only finished 1½L behind the winner who has scored again since. The extra furlong and soft ground set this up nicely for him.
