Auld Sodp32
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: James Best| T: R Harris
100/1
Moderate individual who has failed to impress in point-to-points and also both bumpers when beaten at least 40L on each occasion.
2
Horse silk
33/1
Five-time Flat winner on a sound surface rated in the mid-50s. Usual cheekpieces are removed for hurdling debut.
3
Horse silk
14/1
Well beaten in both bumpers but entitled to have needed last start after a long layoff. Yard do well on their raids here so worth a market check.
4
Horse silk
Deliranth1,t71
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: T Scudamore| T: D Pipe
9/4
Won both his starts in bumpers in France including Group 1 Prix Jacques de Vienne at Saint-Cloud. Held up and raced keenly on debut in a race where it paid to be in the front rank. Wears a hood for hurdling debut.

Horse silk
Maraakib13
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: Adam Wedge| T: Alexandra Dunn
50/1
Out of form lately and well beaten in an uncompetitive contest on hurdling debut. His losing streak looks set to be extended.

Horse silk
Outsmartin675
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: J E Moore| T: D Faulkner
66/1
Beaten by wide margins in two bumpers when last seen in the second half of 2016. Up against it on hurdling debut.
7
Horse silk
Winter Spiceh20
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-12| J: Tom Cannon| T: J Farrelly
12/1
Rated in the high 70s at peak on the Flat, though scored just once in 20 starts. Made his hurdling debut after a long absence and was unsuited by the uneven pace. Will make his presence felt granted a stronger gallop.
8
Horse silk
American Historyt20
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-10| J: Brendan Powell| T: W R Muir| OR:  109
2/1
Fair Flat performer rated in the 70s who has shaped well in two similar races at Worcester. On both occasions he has left the impression he would do better over slightly further and has a chance to prove it today.
9
Horse silk
Go On Maysont33
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-10| J: R Patrick(5)| T: S Thomas
25/1
Modest Flat maiden who was beaten by a wide margin on his hurdling debut and needs to improve significantly.
10
Horse silk
Marettimo92
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-10| J: Sean Houlihan(5)| T: W G M Turner| OR:  109
7/2
15-race maiden under both codes. Officially rated 109 and that sets the standard in a weak contest. Handles any going.
Tailed off last of four on hurdling debut for Harry Fry and now has first run for a new yard.
13
Horse silk
66/1
Landed an AW handicap 18 months ago. Out of form on the Flat lately and best watched on hurdling debut.
14
Horse silk
Rubheirah,t9
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-5| J: Harry Bannister| T: B Barr
100/1
Has failed to make the frame in 28 previous starts under all codes. Beaten 36L on hurdling debut and hard to see her being a threat.
15
Horse silk
50/1
Refused once in a point-to-point before winning a weak Open maiden point-to-point before going to her current yard. Has looked of little account in three starts under rules.
16
Horse silk
250/1
Midnight Legend filly who has been comprehensively beaten on all three starts and she is probably of no account.

Verdict

French Group 1 bumper winner Delirant is not highly tried on his hurdling debut and the market should be informative in relation to his prospects, but the fitting of a hood so early reveals continuing concerns he may not settle. Marettimo sets a modest standard, but one that should see him make the frame, and American History should give a good account over this longer trip. WINTER SPICE is a Flat winner who shaped well on his hurdling debut following an absence from the track when the uneven tempo counted against him. There are a few in here who like to make the running so that should not be an issue this time.
  1. Winter Spice
  2. Marettimo
  3. American History
