Career best effort when finishing runner-up at Naas (6f, good-to-firm) on his penultimate outing and a decent effort in similar conditions subsequently. Interesting runner once more.
Stepped up markedly on debut when beaten 1L into third in a 6f contest at Fairyhouse (good-to-firm) last month. One for the shortlist in this contest.
Unraced son of Compton Place bought for €28,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to multiple winning sprinter Suitcase 'N' Taxi and is an interesting runner on debut.
Held in two starts so far. Beaten 11L over 6f at Fairyhouse (good-to-firm) last time out and others hold stronger claims.
Slowly away when making his debut in 6f maiden at Naas (good-to-firm) just over a month ago. Likely to have improved for the experience.
Run to a good level of form so far including when finishing runner-up over C&D on good-to-firm ground at the end of June. Returning from a break and likely to play a leading role.
Unraced son of Slade Power sold for £15,000 as a yearling last September. Dam unraced and worth a check in the market on debut.
Improved on debut effort when finishing fourth of nine at Down Royal (5f, good-to-firm). Hood worn for the first time that day is absent for this event.
Unraced gelded son of Zebedee bought for €11,500 as a yearling last autumn. Dam was a winner over 5f and market support would be notable on debut.
Unraced son of Dark Angel bought cheaply for €5,500 at the breeze-up sales in May. Probably best watched on debut.
Shaped as if a drop in trip would suit when finishing down the field in a 6f maiden at Naas (good-to-firm) on debut in June. Interesting to see how she fares.
Showed up well for a long way prior to weakening in a 6f maiden at Leopardstown (good-to-firm) on debut. Interesting to see how she fares down in trip.
Unraced daughter of Dandy Man out of a middle-distance winning mare. Likely to improve with time and probably best watched on debut.
Unraced daughter of Battle Of Marengo bought for €3,000 as a yearling last September. Worth a check in the market on debut.
Forecasts
Tenax (3/1), Backpfeifengesicht (4/1), Cityman (5/1), Lord Rapscallion (13/2), Jarrocho (8/1), Sunday Scholar (10/1), Cozy Sky (14/1), Compton's Finale (20/1), Sunset Nova (20/1), Lady Marengo (25/1), All For Power (33/1), Don't Tell Ronan (33/1), Dom's Angel (50/1), Frow (66/1)
TENAX has shown good form so far and he can take the opening race on the card. The selection shouldn't be too inconvenienced by the drop in trip and he can see off Backpfeifengesicht who is returning from a short break while third place can go to Lord Rapscallion who ran well last time.
- Tenax
- Backpfeifengesicht
- Lord Rapscallion
