Newcomer to handicaps who looks to have been brought along with the in mind; ran his qualifying races over shorter (5f last time). Opening mark looks to be a testing one but should be suited by new trip and form from Chester last time is working out.
The only winner in the field having taken a Redcar seller earlier in the season and has run with credit in two handicaps so far the latest over 1m. Stayed that trip without looking as though she needed it and likely to post another solid effort.
One of a quartet that are making their nursery debuts her speedy pedigree didn't suggest that the step up to 7f last time at Beverley was needed. Well beaten 2nd behind a heavily odds-on favourite that run is hard to evaluate; others appeal more.
First three runs have all shown very little having been stepped up to 7f the last twice (5f here on debut). Drops in grade and makes a first foray into handicaps having started 100/1 the last twice (did beat a rival last time); note a market move.
Yard are in excellent form, suspicion is that a move into handicaps will see this one in a much better light off a lowly mark. Form so far is very modest; finished midfield in a valuable York seller last time (6f) and now tries 7f for the first time.
Forecasts
Lady Lavinia (6/4), Call Him Al (15/8), Biscuit Queen (5/1), My Ukulele (13/2), Flash Sentry (25/1)
Four nursery newcomers up against one who has run a couple of creditable races in this sphere after winning a seller make for a problematic opener. Lady Lavinia is the one with the experience at his level and she has a form with a solid look about it and very much sets the standard in this. However, it may well be that she has had her chance in this sphere and CALL HIM AL despite what looks to be a tough mark has looked a nursery type and comes from a Chester race that looks to be working out well. Biscuit Queen was 2nd to a subsequent Listed winner at Beverley albeit at a distance and looks suited by this trip despite her pedigree. My Ukulele could hardly come from a stable in better form.
