Bolted before the start but still landed a modest Hamilton contest with plenty in hand. Clearly has an attitude but his trainer has been clever in placing his juveniles this term (31% strike rate).

Had been improving with each run in this country until failing to see much daylight at Goodwood. Interesting now dropped in grade and trip. Trainer 18-65 with this age group here for a 17 points level stake profit.

Winner of a Redcar seller whose official rating of 64 shows he is out of his depth at this level.

Looked a future winner following her Ripon debut in May. That form has worked out terribly and no surprise to see her flop at Goodwood. Stable took this last year but she needs to improve considerably to take advantage of the allowance she receives.

Desert Lantern (6/4), Showout (2/1), No More Regrets (85/40), Lippy Lady (16/1), Tarrzan (25/1), Grey Hare (40/1)

Verdict

Desert Lantern receives plenty of weight but her Ripon form does not look strong enough and her Goodwood effort seems a fair reflection of how good she is. Showout was made favourite for his debut when just finding an 85-rated experienced rival too strong and he duly obliged next time. Nevertheless he faces a tough task in trying to concede weight to NO MORE REGRETS who is officially rated 84 and faces an easier assignment than of late and for a yard with a good record here with this age group.
  1. No More Regrets
  2. Showout
  3. Desert Lantern
