Horse A-Z
Newcomer (first foal) whose dam (Estimate) won the Gold Cup at Ascot and is related to some other smart stayers. Looks as though he will need this trip and more; yard have yet to have a juvenile winner this year (0-12) so far.
Showed plenty of ability on his debut here over 7f when beaten 2L by the favourite in that contest for a yard that continue to churn out juvenile winners. Should come on for that run and could well put his experience to good use.

Given a stiff introduction in a Class 2 Ascot maiden and showed some ability although he has a pedigree that is hard to read in terms of the right trip. Takes a drop in grade here and should show a step forward from his debut.

Derby entry by Sea The Stars out of a dam who was a winner at Listed level for these connections. Yard are more than capable with juveniles and have already had a couple of debutante winners this season; not any market support.

Newcomer who is not lacking in top-class entries (Champagne Stakes & Derby) and from a family that connections have done well with (brother to smart So Mi Dar and Lar Ti Dar). Trainer already 12-39 with juvenile; 5-22 with debutantes this season.

Forecasts

Verdict

This could turn out to be a very hot maiden with some promising once-raced types opposed by a trio of well-bred newcomers. John Gosden may well know how he stands with Fraser Island who he beat with a newcomer (Beatboxer) on that one’s debut and he now introduces another potentially smart debutante in TOO DARN HOT who is related to two smart sisters (So Mi Dar and Lar Ti Dar) who both scored on their debuts. Calculation a son of Gold Cup winner Estimate is another fascinating debutante with the once-raced pair Brian Epstein and Lethal Guest two others that add to the depth of this contest.
  1. Too Darn Hot
  2. Fraser Island
  3. Brian Epstein
