Built on two turf seconds to win by 5L last time on the AW over 6f at Chelmsford. Carries a 6lb penalty for that success but very much sets the standard here so will still take all the beating.

Won by 4L on debut at Pontefract over 6f where he was well backed beforehand. Carries a 3lb penalty here but ought to improve enough to overcome that and rates a leading contender.

Started career with two promising efforts but not really gone on since including in handicaps the last twice. Fitted with a first time visor and needs it to bring a spark if he's to contend.

Beaten 11½L when eighth of 11 in lone start to date over 6f at Windsor. Had a break since but will need to show dramatic improvement to play a part in the finish here.

Newcomer by Footstepsinthesand cost €25,000 at the sales. Out of a 6f-1m winner including at two. Trainer has few two-year-olds and a low strike rate with them so best watched.
Gelded newcomer by Dandy Man cost 24,000gns as a yearling, Half-brother to two winners from 5f-7f. Trainer had just three two-year-old runners in past five seasons and all unsuccessful so best watched.

Made odds-on for debut at Newcastle back in April but could only beat one home. Had a break before returning over C&D to finish a 12L sixth of ten last month. Big step up needed on what we've seen so far.

Newcomer by Havana Gold is half-sister to a 1m winner out of a mare successful from 7f-1m1f. Stable one from 11 with two-year olds this term. May need more time and longer distances.

Forecasts

Moyassar (4/7), Metallic Black (9/4), Blyton (9/2), Grandstand (10/1), Captain Combat (10/1), Smile A Mile (12/1), Petit Pois (25/1), Burnage Boy (33/1), Bring Us Paradise (50/1), Deconso (100/1)

Verdict

Although both carrying penalties for their wins the top pair very much set the standard here and preference is for Richard Hannon's MOYASSAR who fairly bolted up at Chelmsford last time out. Metallic Black is probably open to more improvement having only had the one race and receives 3lb from his rival so he too has strong claims. Captain Combat makes most appeal of the newcomers.
