Hadn't really progressed with racing until last run where he was narrowly denied in the closing strides of a 1m2f handicap at Windsor. Gets 2lb extra for that but if in same vein of form here he will go close.
Three-time winner for Archie Watson including final start in a 7f claimer where current yard claimed him. Showed little in two starts for this yard to date however and now stepped up markedly in trip.
Left a couple of ordinary efforts in 1m2f handicaps behind latest when running on well for second in a 1m contest at Windsor. That form would give him a chance but can race keenly and has to prove he stays this trip.
Showed limited ability in three races to date but steps up from 1m for this his handicap debut. Looked worthy of it in best effort when third at Windsor but ran very poorly latest. Could bounce back after a break.
Returned from 114-day absence latest when staying on fourth at Chepstow. Ought to strip fitter today and this trip could be to his liking so with a 2lb ease from the handicapper he has several positives.
Showed little to get excited about in three starts to date but steps up 3f now which should be very beneficial and may have snuck a nice opening mark by running over inadequate distances. Not to be underestimated.
Forecasts
Glorious Army (2/1), Returning Glory (2/1), Birthright (9/2), Antiguan Rock (11/1), Carp Kid (14/1), Ghost Serge (14/1), Apple Anni (25/1)
RETURNING GLORY belatedly seemed to get his act together last time out at Windsor and a repeat of that effort may be enough in an ordinary looking contest. A couple of these stepping up in trip look like it may suit. Carp Kid should be better for his recent return where he ran well enough after a break. Antiguan Rock has a bit to find but it's anyone's guess what he might be capable of over this surely more suitable distance.
