Sole handicap win on the Flat came from 4lb lower over this trip at Catterick (good) 12-months ago. Ran at least as well on his next two starts. Not in the same form so far this term, but stable in good nick and can't rule him out.
1-14, having scored over this trip on heavy at Pontefract in September, when 6lb lower. Ran well next time and was only just below the level of that win on her reappearance here in April. Should be very competitive.
C&D maiden winner in May 2017. Well below that level in all three handicap starts since. Returns from wind surgery, in headgear for the first time. Market may guide us, but clearly has a fair bit to prove now.
Without a win for almost two years, but has now dropped to 1lb below that last success at Catterick (1m4f, good). Would have a chance if back at his best, but has not seen much action lately and seems best at the venue just up the road.
Scored here over 1m (good to soft) in April in a modest novice event. Bettered that in a Carlisle handicap (1m3f) last time, but was still beaten 8L. 2lb drop here and still early days, but plenty more needed.
All four wins have been at around this trip, on good or soft, the latest at Pontefract when making all to win by 7L. 6lb penalty makes this tougher, but he is still very well treated on 2016 form and might have a follow-up in him.
Beaten out of sight in a Group 2 last time, but other than that he has an improving profile, despite being a maiden. Sees out 1m6f, but worth a try over this trip and should appreciate genuine good ground. Considered.
Won a class 6 over this trip at Catterick (good to firm) last year, when just 1lb lower. Inconsistent since, but more good runs than bad and certainly has each-way claims, but a bit more needed for the win.
0-6 but is steadily improving and produced a career-best at Wolverhampton (1m4f, AW) last time. Beaten 2¼L there, so still needs more here from same mark, but unexposed and is considered.
Forecasts
Jeremiah (5/4), Multellie (4/1), Dragon Mountain (6/1), Je Suis Charlie (7/1), The Navigator (8/1), Arrowtown (16/1), Swansway (16/1), Card High (25/1), Globetrotter (50/1)
An open heat, but now that MULTELLIE appears to be back on better terms with himself, he is the suggestion, given that he still looks well treated on form of now that long ago. Dragon Mountain is unexposed may well take a hand, with Arrowtown, Jeremiah and Je Suis Charlie others likely to be very competitive.
- Multellie
- Dragon Mountain
- Arrowtown
