Promising two-year-old form hasn't been replicated this term with him winless from 11 starts. Connections seem to have committed to sprints now after trying several different distances. Eased another 4lb here but hard to be confident at present.

Former Aidan O'Brien inmate made a winning start for this yard on the AW last December. Showed little in next three but latest run over C&D saw him only beaten 1/2L when third of 8 at 20/1. Off the same mark today so should go well.

Made all to win a Yarmouth maiden over 6f back in May and has run well in both subsequent starts with thirds on the AW at Chelmsford and Brighton last time out. Handicapper leaves her mark unchanged so a bold show is expected.

Showed some potential in three starts in novice events so far with latest third of six her best run to date. Steps back in trip here which may suit given her pedigree and run style. Reasons for optimism on handicap debut.

Best form to date on AW including gaining her first success latest at Lingfield although arguably had tougher tasks on turf. Only 3lb higher for that win last time out but this looks a tougher race.

Catapultp8

Promising second on stable debut last October proved a false dawn and he is now winless in 12 starts. Handicap continues to fall but shown no signs he is ready to take advantage this term.

Forecasts

Lalania (13/8), Mount Wellington (7/2), Tafawoq (7/2), Roland Rocks (11/2), Nampara (10/1), Catapult (25/1)

Verdict

Not the toughest three-year-old handicap you will see at Newmarket and LALANIA can take advantage. Stuart Williams' filly has run well in each of her last three starts and she should be able to dictate matters in a small field here. The least exposed runner is Tawafoq who steps back in trip for her handicap debut which could well suit, she rates the main danger. Mount Wellington ran well over C&D latest and if he can run to that level again he should be involved in the finish also.
  1. Lalania
  2. Tafawoq
  3. Mount Wellington
