A winner on debut at York but struggled when upped in class at Royal Ascot. Produced a much more promising run in the July Stakes at Newmarket. More to come for a yard that do well with these types. Yard also run Sabre.
Showed very little on debut at Epsom but his second at Newbury last time was much more encouraging. Needs a huge step forward to make his presence felt in this class but he's well bred and can't be completely ruled out.
Just a Newmarket maiden win to his name from four starts but has acquitted himself well at pattern level, including when runner-up in the July Stakes last time when stepped up to 6f for the first time. Leading claims if he improves again.
Typically for this yard, he took a big step forward from his debut to win at the Curragh. Ran well when stepped up to Group 2 class at Royal Ascot two starts back and didn't need to improve to win a Listed race at Tipperary last time. Solid claims.
Gained a second career win at Chester and he was only narrowly denied in a Group 2 at the Curragh next time out. Took another step forward when winning a Group 3 back at that course last time and clearly thriving at present. Should run well.
Justified favouritism when losing his maiden tag at Newmarket on second start. While running well in defeat, he looked a little outpaced in the closing stages of a 7f Group 2 at Newmarket last time so the drop back in trip is a slight concern.
Winner on debut and only narrowly denied twice since, most recently in a competitive Listed event at Royal Ascot. Could be even more to come over this trip and the winner from last time performed with credit in the Molecomb on Wednesday.
Won on debut at Nottingham and ran with great in the Coventry at Royal Ascot when fifth of 23 having been bought for £375,000 in the interim. Starts out for a new yard here and he's an interesting runner with more progress likely.
Won at Wolverhampton on debut and not beaten far at Kempton on second start. Not disgraced in the July Stakes but there's no doubt he needs more here.
Forecasts
Land Force (5/2), Marie's Diamond (9/2), Neverland Rock (5/1), Konchek (6/1), Shine So Bright (13/2), Sabre (13/2), Sporting Chance (20/1), Charming Kid (20/1), Cool Reflection (66/1)
Clive Cox does well with his young sprinters and KONCHEK may be capable of more improvement after his impressive effort when stepped up to six furlongs for the first time in the July Stakes. Land Force looks steadily progressive and couldn't be ruled out for Aidan O'Brien but Marie's Diamond could prove to be the main danger and may be able to put his experience to good use and build on his win in Group 3 class last time.
- Konchek
- Marie's Diamond
- Land Force
