Kevin Ryan has won the last two runnings and saddles one of the likely market leaders this time in Rathbone. Inexperience has seen him throw away winning opportunities in two hot races this summer and he should not remain a maiden for long. However, the easier underfoot conditions are a concern. Shallow Hal is bred to handle the ground and Preservation has a good pedigree. Richard Fahey holds a strong hand with Camber and KING OF TONGA. The former is bred for speed and soft ground, but the selection has the form and a plum draw so is marginally preferred.
