Hood and tongue-tie first time for this once raced gelding who showed little on his only previous start at Dundalk in December 2016. Very hard to enthuse over.

Modest form in three starts for Johnny Murtagh. Returned from 14-month absence and on debut for new yard ran well to be distant third in 1m5f maiden at Ballinrobe last week. Could be more to come, but possibly in handicaps.

Winning hurdler who was third in heavy ground on Flat at Navan last October. Any rain would help his cause but a place may be the best he can hope for.

Gelded son of Approve has shown precious little in six starts so far and has yet to reach a place. Very hard to imagine him getting involved.

Winning point to pointer but yet to score in 13 races on Flat and over hurdles and it looks likely to be more of the same once again.

Second in decent Nottingham mile maiden for Brian Meehan last August but has looked regressive in two starts for new handler in Ireland and hard to fancy unless he stops the rot.

Third opn debut in Wexford bumper in June but ran poorly in similar event at Killarney recently. Debut on Flat here but this looks a tough baptism.

Disappointing Sea The Stars colt who didn't shown enough in two starts for Dermot Weld and joined current connections for just 5,000 euros in May showing little in last four outings

Won Ballinrobe bumper on dbeut then fifth in listed bumper next time out. Beaten favourite and fourth in Killarney bumper last time but represents top yard and a fair display can't be ruled out for last year's winning yard.

Showed nothing in two outings for Jim Bolger last year and sold for just 2,500 guineas to current connections. Wears first time cheekpieces but hard to see him making his presence felt .

150,000 guineas Invincible Spirit colt who has shown ability in his three runs so far all at 1m2f. Step up in trip should suit having looked a touch short of pace when runner-up at Ballinrobe last time. Should be bang there.

Has looked slow in all four races between 5f-1m5f and surely is going to finish nearer last than first unless he has turned over a new leaf.

Nearer last than first in four of his starts so far and this looks a very tough task. Surely will have better opportuniteis in a small handicap down the line.

Forecasts

Diamond Hill (11/8), Crecerelle (9/4), National Wealth (10/3), Charlie Stout (4/1), House Call (13/2), Born By The Sea (14/1), Ballycaines (14/1), May Peace Prevail (25/1), Rising (33/1), Flying Mary (33/1), Ten Bears (33/1), Rock Breaker (33/1), Safaruk (50/1), Earl Of Bunnacurry (66/1), Bobeska (66/1), Aprils Joy (66/1), Toursoun (66/1), Carol's Return (100/1), Ballycastle Lad (100/1), Dawn Arrival (100/1), Racing Again (100/1)

Verdict

Plenty of runners but surely not many with realistic chances of landing the spoils. NATIONAL WEALTH is probably good enough to get his head in front after a few decent efforts but wil have to be on his game with Crecerelle expected to make a proper race of it. Diamond Hill runs for last year's winning stable, while Ballycaines also has claims to a place at least.

  3. Ballycaines
