Sole success came on the AW in October 2016. Handicap mark is falling following some moderate efforts this spring, starting to get competitive over his trip at Windsor and Newbury this month, down another pound here and not ruled out.

Both turf wins have come at Brighton, latest over this trip in June. Unable to get a blow in either side of that Lingfield and back at Brighton, not the most reliable.

Has done well in this combination of headgear for current yard, winning over 6f and 1m here this summer. Also capable of running a stinker and was never a threat over 6f here most recently.

Course winner in May 2017 (1m, good to firm), has run competitively a couple of times here over 1m/1m1f this month, without looking like winning, but mark is still on the slide so entitled to be getting closer.

Remains a maiden and seemingly hard to train given gaps between races. Ran well when third to Wild Acclaim over 1m here last time, but isn't certain to back that up.

Winner of four-runner contest here early in the month, just scraping home to land a 25/1 touch. Well held since on AW at Lingfield and a repeat is deemed unlikely.

Maiden after nine starts but placed on three of last four outings, including when beaten a neck over an extended 7f at Lingfield (good to firm) in June. Tossed in the towel this month at Nottingham very quickly however.

Six-raced maiden, back from a layoff with lacklustre showing on the AW at Chelmsford over a mile this month. All sorts to find if hoping to land a blow.

Has improved since going into handicaps. Too free Chepstow (1m2f) latest and not one to cross off just yet going back down in trip.

Rip Van Winkle gelding, cost 12,500 gns as a yearling. Hasn't shown a lot in maidens to date, but gets into handicaps off a basement mark as a result and an improved showing isn't ruled out.

Forecasts

Guardiola (3/1), Tai Sing Yeh (4/1), Lily Ash (9/2), King Oswald (7/1), Jazzy Girl (8/1), Vantasy (8/1), Wild Acclaim (9/1), Hidden Stash (20/1), Percy Toplis (22/1), Astroblaze (40/1)

Verdict

Guardiola was too free to last home at Chepstow recently and could have more to offer down in trip if settling, while Lily Ash showed some potential here last time, though isn't a dead cert to back that up. Wild Acclaim won that contest and is certainly capable, albeit can also throw in the towel readily at times. Tai Sing Yeh is showing signs of a return to the winners' circle and should be competitive but perhaps KING OSWALD can recapture his mojo here. A former course winner, he's shaped nicely of late and is down to a winnable mark now.
  1. King Oswald
  2. Tai Sing Yeh
  3. Lily Ash
