Former course winner, produced best effort in a while when second of six in handicap at Windsor over this trip 15 days ago, will surely go close with a repeat.

His two wins from 15 starts have both come at Windsor in August before his form tailed off last year. Poor on the AW in June when last spotted and work to do to be competitive here.

Lightly-raced Nathaniel filly, didn't improve on handicap bow over 1m4f on the AW at Wolverhampton this month, still early days and not one to dismiss just yet, though has clear need for improvement.

Rock Of Gibraltar gelding has improved dramatically for the switch to handicaps, winning in fine style at Chepstow and Bath over this trip already this month. Hit with a 14lb ratings hike for latest success.

Well fended off in all four starts to date and failed to beat a rival home on handicap bow at Beverley over 1m4f latest. Hard to make any logical case for.

Forecasts

Final Rock (4/6), Medalla De Oro (10/3), Swilly Sunset (6/1), Voluminous (9/1), Astrobreeze (40/1)

Verdict

FINAL ROCK has improved dramatically since starting out in handicaps and has won his races at Chepstow and Bath with plenty authority. He has been tried hard by the handicapper now, but still rates as the most likely winner here. Former course winner Swilly Sunset looks the main danger after a return to form at Windsor last time. Voluminous should be capable of more than she's shown so fa.
  1. Final Rock
  2. Swilly Sunset
  3. Voluminous
