Won last year's Lincoln from 5lb higher when fresh and that remains his only turf success. Versatile with regard to conditions and has run well here before. Gelded since last run in November. Stable going well. Claims.
Close third in a good handicap here last year, when 5lb higher and ran well again over C&D later in season. Best form on good ground or slower. Wide draw to overcome, but if he can, he should be in the mix.
Goes on most ground and has been in decent form this season, winning at both Nottingham (good to soft) and Pontefract (good to firm). Last of nine in this grade from 1lb lower last time and will need improvement to win.
Has not been able to win on turf or in a handicap since recording four successes in 2015. Good effort when third at Ayr (1m, good) from 1lb higher on penultimate start. Below that level here last time. Each-way player if on song.
Last two wins have come from higher marks. All wins have been on good to soft through to heavy ground, so the more rain that comes, the better. Stable first string on jockey bookings. Leading player if he gets his ground.
Ran up a four-timer over 6f last year and added a 7f win at Yarmouth (good to firm) this term. Still in good form, but keeps being nudged up in the weights. Now 4lb higher than when 1L second in similar C&D race last time. Each-way claims.
Won a Listed C&D handicap in 2015, but has not won on turf since. Certainly well treated on his best form, but has been unable to show that for some time and was well behind Kaeso here last time. Tongue-tie now on but has a bit to prove.
Has won at both 6f/7f and ran well here over the former trip when a neck second from 4lb lower last month. Has run well over this trip since at Carlisle. Tends to be held up. Won't mind if ground turns soft. Stable going well. Not ruled out.
Improving and scored in a fillies' handicap at Beverley (1m½f, good to firm) two starts ago, from 5lb lower. Went close from this mark art Pontefract latest. Won't mind any cut in the ground. Unexposed and interesting.
0-7, but unexposed and improving. Beaten just 1½L in a 7f three-year-old handicap here (good to firm) last time. Nudged up 1lb for that. Can't write him off from a good draw, but does lack the experience of most of these.

Forecasts
Fashion Theory (4/1), Racemaker (5/1), Kings Gift (6/1), Kaeso (6/1), Withernsea (6/1), Third Time Lucky (7/1), Presidential (7/1), La Rav (7/1), Lamloom (8/1), Bertog (9/1), Helovaplan (12/1), Golden Guest (14/1), Destroyer (14/1), Bravery (16/1), Alfred Hutchinson (20/1)
Another race where the forecast rain could change the complexion of things before the gates go back. Lincoln winner Bravery should not be affected by that and is very interesting returning gelded and fresh, from a yard in great form. Kings Gift wants the rain and has to be considered if it arrives, while La Rav is another to have been gelded since he was last seen and is unexposed and well worth consideration. However, WITHERNSEA is well drawn and on a handy mark, and he is given the vote in the hope that the ground is on the soft side of good. Presidential, Fashion Theory and Racemaker are others for whom cases can be made.
- Withernsea
- La Rav
- Kings Gift
