Improving with each visit to the racecourse (all 7f, good to firm) and got off the mark when making all for an easy win at Yarmouth last time. Has a 6lb penalty for that today, but should prove tough to beat.

Another who has stepped up on his last run each time so far, though is yet to win one. Goes up in trip from 6f today, which could help find some more and he should be very competitive.

€28,000 yearling. Half-brother to winners Captain My Captain (6f at two) and King's Icon (Italian 7f inc at two). Dam twice-raced half-sister to French Listed-placed 7f/1m winner Alsace. Promising pedigree, though may be one to note for the future.

33-1 and ran green on debut at Haydock (7f, good to firm) last month. Should improve for that experience, but probably one to watch again this time.

Second foal. Dam 5f-6f winning half-sister to winners up to 1m½f, out of fairly useful 5f-6f winner. Stable (usually 8%) has few juvenile runners yet this year and not noted for debut winners, so watching brief probably prudent.

Made a promising debut at Haydock (7f, good to firm), but was not as good over Pontefract's stiff 6f last time. He never looked happy in that race and now has to bounce back.

Forecasts

Persian Moon (8/5), Absolute Dream (7/2), Hot Team (9/2), Commanding Officer (10/1), Commander Solo (14/1), Conundrum (16/1), Ambersand (25/1), Neileta (25/1), Allatoona (25/1), Cuban Gold (25/1), Furyan (33/1)

Verdict

Experience should count for plenty here and PERSIAN MOON has had the most positive experience in the field, having won last time. We know that he can set the pace and he could prove very tough to pass, despite his penalty. Richard Fahey comes here mob-handed and Absolute Dream is both his most obvious contender on form and also jockey bookings. He should go well. Hot Team would be a danger if reproducing his debut effort, while an eye on the market with regard to the newcomers looks sound advice.
