Like so many from the yard, we won't see the best of her until she goes over middle distances but she did run well enough on debut at Carlisle to think she could take a hand here if taking a step forward. May find track a bit sharp, though.

Middle distances will be her thing in time and she's simply likely to find this too sharp a test on debut, but of interest if only as yard are 2-6 with their 2yos here last five years. Worth a look in the market.

Half sister to useful sprinter Master Of War, and has already shown plenty of abiliuty in two starts to date, seemingly lacking a gear change at Newbury last time and this extra furlong should suit. Sets the standard for the others to aim at.

Half sister to the yard's useful sprinter Maureb, unsurprisingly given her name, but yard not really known for 2yo first time out winners and is best watched today.

Had clearly learnt plenty from her first two starts when a close fourth in a decent contest at Salisbury last time, looking like further still would suit. Wouldn't take much more than that for her to get involved here.

Better effort on second start at Hamilton when getting the hang of things late and staying on for a close fourth Extra furlong looks in her favour, as pedigree suggests it might, but she does need to step up again.

Full sister to Noble Masterpiece, a 7f winner at Yarmouth for MIchael Stoute last year, so trip should be fine, but yard have a poor strike rate with their 2yos here and on that, others make a bit more appeal today.

Cheap purchase from Tatts Book 3 sales last October at 3,000gns and yard like to let theirs find their feet in these events. May find things happening a bit too quickly here.

Half sister Beyond Equal has twice won over 6f this year, so she is unlikely to fail for a lack of speed, and at the very least she's worth a look to see if there's any market support from a yard that can land them first time up.

Pedigree screams middle distances so it was very encouraging to see her perform as well as she did on debut at Kempton, sticking on well for third. Almost sure to improve from this yard, and is one to take seriously here.

Half sister to five winners, including two at Listed/G3 level, and this ought to be a suitable test for her debut. Yard 8-49 with their 2yos here last five years and can win with them first time up, so worthy of consideration.

Trip should be fine as a start point for her and her half sister Khawaater was a 6f winner back in 2014, so she has some positives. Yard 13% strike rate with their 2yo here last five year so is worth a second look.

Half sister Chiringuita was sharp enough to win on debut and was placed at Listed level at 2, so given her saddle slipped early on debut she ran perfectly well enough to finish a close enough sixth. Will improve and has to be on the shortlist.

Forecasts

Ascended (4/5), Royal Variety (6/1), Albanita (7/1), Shaqwar (12/1), Cottontail (16/1), Divinity (16/1), Diva D (16/1), Sootability (22/1), Tie A Yellowribbon (25/1), Anna Bunina (50/1), Hunterwali (66/1), Flo Jo's Girl (66/1), Baby Maureb (100/1)

Verdict

ASCENDED hasn't done a lot wrong on either start and looks ready for this step up in trip. That should bring about a bit more improvement and she can score for a yard that do well with their 2yos here (5-14 last five seasons). Royal Variety is another that performed with great credit on debut and will almost certainly improve today, coming from the yard she does. She looks one of a number of dangers, along with Tie A Yellowribbon, Cottontail plus debutantes Sootability and Hunterwali.
