Quirky sort whose latest win came on Guernsey in May and showed his best form last time when runner-up to a progressive sort at Newbury. Can be slow away but generally finds for pressure (strong finisher); drops in grade here.

A Flat record that reads 2-46 hardly inspires confidence and not seen since running over hurdles in March (showed little). Did manage to finish second over C&D on his last turf Flat start off a 4lb higher mark but may need this and best watched for n

From a stable that can often get their handicappers on a real roll and he's been well placed to win three handicaps while only rising 4lb in the handicap. Not tried over 2m yet but should have no problems with the trip upped a further 6lb.

Bounced back to form on the AW over this trip on his penultimate start (off 3lb lower) doing well as he stumbled badly 3f out. Well below-par last time though; left poorly placed in the race and blinkers now replace cheekpieces.

Course winner who hasn't been seen in this sphere since this time last year when he was 4th over C&D under very different conditions (heavy ground). A winner over hurdles when last seen he does have a fair absence to overcome; chance if ready though.

Produced a performance last time which must rank as a career-best although all-in-all the form is rather modest overall. Kept on well off a basement mark and races here off just a 1lb higher mark; place claims if repeating that win.

Last two turf Flat runs have suggested that he could win a race such as this (not well placed last time) and despite a poor hurdles run last time he's not out of this. Always runs in this combination of headgear and not written off on his Flat form.

Has so far shown very little form and in fact has displayed more temperament than ability; hard to see him getting involved here from 1lb out of the handicap.

Verdict

Gradually stepping up in trip TIMOSHENKO has the look of a typical improver from this yard who has been well placed avoiding any big increases in his handicap mark with the cheekpieces added last time (retained here) bring about some more improvement. Ochos Rios isn’t an easy ride but he appears genuine enough although he does give himself plenty to do with some slow starts. Aristocracy will be of interest if he’s ready to roll after a 10 month absence while Bumble Bay and Clearance have chances on their recent form of hitting the frame again.
