Decisive 4L winner for this rider over C&D in June (good to firm); twice beaten since under different riders off elevated marks; excuses for one of those runs (trip), but fairly put in his place by Matchmaking over C&D latest (third; beaten 8½L).
Hasn't witnessed much racing since scoring over an extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton in March 2017 (for Andi Brown); with another new trainer now and competes from his last winning mark, but looks fairly risky on balance.
Still a maiden after 12 starts with the handicapper making life tough by raising him a combined total of 7lb for four successive runner-up efforts (mainly 1m); respected, but with stamina to prove upped to 1m2f.
Six-race maiden who is finding registering his first win to be a fairly elusive pursuit; made little impact in handicap company for Marco Botti, and drops a further 3lb in the weights on debut for new trainer (5,500gns purchase; July 2018).
Regular at this track (has won here on more than one occasion, including over C&D); probably didn't quite stay 1m3.5f latest when beaten 3½L by Bartholomew J, but these conditions are to his liking, and he was beaten a neck in this race in 2017.
Six-race maiden (0 from 2 on turf) who evidently takes some handling; rather shot herself in the foot by setting a suicidal pace at Windsor last month (1m2f, good to firm); chance if experienced rider is able to harness her enthusiasm.
125,000gns yearling; disappointing as a juvenile and has failed to progress in low grade handicaps this season; beaten 8L (fourth) when appearing to be a non-stayer on her first attempt at 1m2f at Doncaster in June.
Forecasts
Girls Talk (9/4), Tyrsal (3/1), Right About Now (9/2), Global Wonder (9/2), Destinys Rock (11/2), Voice of A Leader (16/1), Elusif (40/1)
The majority of these horses are finding winning opportunities difficult to come by, none more so than the admirably consistent four-time runner-up Global Wonder. He deserves respect, but would hold stronger claims over a reduced trip (1m). Right About Now appears to be high enough in the weights, but is reunited with David Egan who partnered him to victory over C&D in June, whilst Luke Morris will need to be at his strongest to harness the enthusiasm of Destinys Rock. Therefore, the safest option is Yarmouth regular TYRSAL, who finished a neck second to Outlaw Torn (off a 9lb higher mark) in this race in 2017.
- Tyrsal
- Global Wonder
- Right About Now
