Slipped back down the ratings since competing unsuccessfully on the AW during the winter, but showed more when runner-up in a Windsor seller recently (6f, good to firm), and is interestingly partnered by a talented 7lb claimer.
Carries a 6lb penalty for a narrow C&D win last week (only due a 4lb handicap rise), but that was his first win for 13 months and proves that he's in good health; player under very similar conditions.
Broke his duck over C&D at the 12th attempt last month (5/4f); raised 6lb and has left the care of John Butler since; not fully exposed on these shores having spent much of his racing career in Ireland.
Dual 6f Chelmsford winner (Class 6), but yet to win on turf after seven starts; beaten approximately 1L when finishing fourth of eight to Terri Rules over 5f here latest; dropped 1lb and holds stronger claims over this longer trip.
No turf win since June 2017 (1 from 18), and whilst regularly thereabouts over this trip at Brighton last month, shouldn't have enough about him to trouble Deeds Not Words based upon their recent C&D form.
Still to hit the target (11-race maiden); has continued to disappoint for this trainer since finishing runner-up in a 7f nursery here in October 2017 (good); fallen a further 3lb in the handicap since his most recent start.
Her standout best effort came over C&D on her penultimate start when beaten a neck by Mother Of Dragons; failed to build upon that subsequently at Brighton (finished behind Strictly Carter) and remains an eight-race maiden.
Stablemate of Good Business; finished last on all three AW starts so far (6f-7f, Wolverhampton), so impossible to recommend on turf/handicap debut despite the presence of newly applied headgear (hood and cheekpieces).
Poor form so far (5f-6f), and makes absolutely no appeal on handicap debut; first-time hood is applied.
Forecasts
At Your Service (9/4), Deeds Not Words (5/2), Asheena (5/1), Strictly Carter (8/1), Catapult (8/1), Good Business (10/1), Alkashaaf (20/1), India Jane (66/1), Tilsworth Prisca (100/1)
A modest opener, but with a fair bit of C&D form on which to base a judgement. Thomas Greatrex is an interesting booking aboard the returned to form Alkashaaf, whilst both Deeds Not Words and Good Business have acquitted themselves well at this track lately with the latter named likely to appreciate this step back up in trip. However, there's potentially more to come from the now Paul Howling-trained AT YOUR SERVICE following his C&D win last month. He rates as fairly unexposed in this grade despite a 6lb rise in the weights having spent much of his racing career so far over in Ireland.
- At Your Service
- Good Business
