Made a winning debut in the mud at Ffos Las a year ago for William Muir, but hasn't progressed from that effort, and yet to race on ground quicker than good. Work to do at these weights on debut for new yard.
Out of a moderate 5f winner. Showed nothing after a slow start on debut at Chepstow last month for John Gallagher, and starts out for new yard having been gelded in the interim.
Well-bred sire only won a maiden and dam failed to score, so hard to enthuse over his pedigree, and this gelding wears a hood for racecourse bow. Best watched unless attracting support.
Essentially disappointing this season having won an AW novice as a juvenile, although placed twice in modest company prior to below-form fifth in a 7f seller here last week. Needs to find her best form to score.
Nearer last than first in a trio of outings to date, and while this represents a marked drop in class, she hasn't shown enough to suggest she can take advantage.
Much her best effort to date when third of 10 to Ayutthaya in 1m minor event at Thirsk in April, but she's not gone on from that. Takes a drop in class here, though, and ought to be competitive if cheekpieces help her focus.
Best effort to date when 2½L fourth of 15 to Spanish Mane in 1m handicap at Wetherby last month, and back to form when fourth in a 7f seller here last week, staying on. Holds Episcia on that running.
Yet to win, but has bits of form that would giver her every chance here, and may have had stamina stretched in a visor on last couple of starts over further. Has left George Scott.
Runner-up in a 7f seller here last September for Mick Channon, but limited impact for current yard over the winter. May do better back on turf after a break, but risky.
Forecasts
Moretti (2/1), Episcia (9/4), Foxangel (9/2), Jenoow (15/2), Sigrid Nansen (10/1), Still Got It (16/1), Greeneyedafghan (25/1), Wajdy (50/1), Krampus (66/1)
MORETTI doesn't look entirely straightforward, but she finished ahead of market rival Episcia over 7f here last week, and will be better served by this longer trip, so looks the best option in a weak race. Sigrid Nansen makes her debut for Alexandra Dunn, and could do better back at a mile without headgear, so merits consideration, along with Jenoow, who drops in class with cheekpieces applied.
- Moretti
- Sigrid Nansen
- Episcia
