C&D winner in April last year and again ran well here when second on penultimate start. Probably didn't stay the 6f last time, and back at this trip has to have claims if the first-time blinkers sharpen him up.
3-37 and drops back to the minimum trip here for the first in his career. Interesting to see how he fares as can take a good hold and travels well in his races.
16-100 in an honourable career, this veteran didn't run badly here in May and again two starts back. Has place claims at least on that evidence but 'Father Time' may be catching up with him.
Hasn't won on turf for nearly three years and ran a shocker last time on AW at Newcastle having prveiously looked to be running into form. Hard to assess and may be best watched for the moment.
Last win came over C&D in October off this mark and struggled off higher on AW during the winter. Looked on the way back last time at Doncaster when fair second and similar effort would give him solid claims.
Bounced back to form to win Ayr amateurs handicap last time out and should go well again this time off just 3lb higher mark. Yard among the winners of late.
Caught close hom at Pontefract two weeks ago in similar event and former champion rides again so may eke out a little improvement. 2lb higher but not lightly dismissed.
Veteran having his 114th start. Last won two years ago off nearly 20lb higher mark and clearly isn't the force of old but should give his apprentice rider a good spin.
Forecasts
Danehill Desert (5/2), Classic Pursuit (9/2), Red Tycoon (9/2), Tallinski (6/1), Seamster (15/2), Lexington Place (8/1), Royal Mezyan (11/1), Secret Asset (100/1)
A trappy affair but CLASSIC PURSUIT may come out on top having looked to be closing in on top form with a solid run last time. Danehill Desert also went close of late and will be on th epremises once again, and Ayr scorer Lexington Place should make a bold bid to follow up. Seamster is not out of it on a track he likes, while first-time blinkers may sharpen up Tallinski, who also enters calculations.
- Classic Pursuit
- Tallinski
- Danehill Desert
