Arguably best over 6f and on ground no faster than good, but has once won over the minimum trip. Has been unable to get back to his 2017 form so far this year, but this drop in grade could see him get more competitive.
Goes well here and has already won twice over C&D this season from stall three. 2lb higher than when doing so last time out in a 0-82 and looks to have very solid claims claims of a repeat.
His wins came back-to-back in 2015, when he was also beaten just a nose in a Group 3. Has been in nothing like that form recently, though did make the frame over 6f at Thirsk in April, when 3lb higher. Each-way claims over this trip from poor draw.
Looks well treated here on the best of his 2017 form, although went off the boil as season wore on. Not disgraced on return to action at Hamilton (6f) last month, so if he can come on for that he could get competitive again.
Won this last year, when 6lb higher and defying a high draw to do so. Was ¾L third to Desert Ace here last time, for which he is now 2lb better off. General level of form this term not as good as last year, but can't rule him out from a decent draw.
Won her maiden over C&D last year and won for the first time in handicap company at Newmarket (5f, good to firm) last month, when 7lb lower. Was not far off that level of form from this mark at Doncaster last time. Claimer now on board. More needed.
Five-time C&D winner, though has not achieved the feat since 2014, or won anywhere for over two years. Went close back here from this mark two starts ago, when beaten ½L and not ruled out back at his beloved venue.
Went close three times in succession over 5f-7f in the spring, without scoring, when she was 4lb/5lb higher. A return to that sort of form would give her claims, but she has been well below that of late and needs to bounce back.
Had been a little inconsistent before coming good at Musselburgh (5f, good to firm) earlier in the month, when 4lb lower. Matched that effort from today's mark, when 2¼L second at Hamilton (5f) last time. Good draw and is short-listed.
Won a C&D claimer a couple of years ago, but remains 1-14. Recent efforts offer no encouragement that she will come good today from 11lb 'wrong'.
Aside from his career-best in a 7f Redcar maiden last September, he didn't show a great deal in that sphere. Still early days in handicaps, however, and mark now becoming more realistic. More needed but not written off.

Musharrif (4/1), Desert Ace (4/1), Flying Foxy (9/2), Scoundrel (11/2), Patrick (6/1), Bosham (6/1), Bondi Beach Boy (7/1), Pomme De Terre (10/1), Start Time (25/1), Maureb (40/1), Sunstorm (66/1), Newgate Sioux (100/1)
DESERT ACE clearly enjoys himself here and is taken to record what is perhaps the rare distinction of three wins in a season at the same track and from the same box. His extra 2lb concession to both Bosham and Musharrif adds a bit of extra spice, and they are both respected in opposition again. Scoundrel makes some appeal, as do both Bondi Beach Boy and Pomme De Terre.
