Charm Spirit colt, cost 33,000 gns as a foal. Half-brother to four winners and dam out of a Listed winner. Yard's debutantes can need the run but not dismissed, particularly if money arrives for him.

Zoffany colt, cost €40,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to three winners and dam a half-sister to a juvenile winner over this trip. This looks a suitable test for debut.
Invincible Spirit colt, half-brother to juvenile winner who went on to win the Irish 1,000 Guineas. Dam a half-sister to a Group 3 winner over 1m4f. Plenty to like on paper here and yard can ready a debutante.
Holy Roman Emperor colt that cost €68,000 as a yearling. 5th foal; half-brother to 4 winners inc Bravo Zolo & Set To Fire. Yard having a good time of things and market will be useful guide on debut. Wears a hood.

Dark Angel colt, cost 180,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to five winners and dam a winner over 6f. Debut was full of promise here earlier in the month over C&D and the only runner to run since won next time out. Should go well.

Teofilo colt, brother to a winner over further. Ran with credit on debut over C&D, finishing two places in front of Giga White. Every chance if he builds on that.

Coach House colt, cost 17,000 gns as a two-year-old. Dam a half-sister to a juvenile winner over this trip and another useful AW performer. Well beaten here on debut when he still looked green and may need more time.
Lope De Vega colt, cost 90,000 gns as a foal and 70,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to two winners and dam a half-sister to Group 2 juvenile winner over 6f. Makes appeal on paper and market can guide on debut.

Scat Daddy colt, cost $750,000 as a foal. Half-brother to a Group 1 winner and a pair of Group performers. Dam a half-sister to 1,000 Guineas winner. Shaped with promise on debut and not disgraced at Newmarket last week when third. Should go well.

Dansili colt, dam a Group 3 winner. This looks a suitable test for debut and yard can ready one for a first outing. Market should reveal his chances.
Australia colt, cost 260,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to a juvenile Listed winner and dam a sister to a Group 1 winner. Impeccably bred but yard's debutantes often need the experience and Moore prefers Mount Tabora.

Australia colt, cost €120,000 as a foal. Dam a half-sister to two-time Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Treve and a Listed winner. Beautifully bred and while he didn't show much on debut, there's a fair chance he will do better here.

Sea The Stars filly, half-sister to a Listed winner. Dam a 1m Grade 3 winner. Well bred sort and certainly warrants a market check with enough speed in her pedigree to handle this test.

Forecasts

Mount Tabora (9/4), Giga White (5/2), Guaranteed (4/1), Whitsunday Islands (10/1), Limit Long (10/1), Western Australia (14/1), Archaeology (22/1), Third World (25/1), Esprit de Lumiere (25/1), Softly Strong (33/1), Candy Man (50/1), Kodi Dream (66/1), Finding Nero (66/1)

Verdict

Aidan O'Brien has enjoyed a stranglehold on this race in recent times, winning four of the last five renewals and Ryan Moore opts to ride MOUNT TABORA after a respectable effort at Newmarket last time out. It's likely to have been a tough call between the son of Scat Daddy and the well bred Whitsunday Islands and there's every chance the stablemate will take a big step forward from his debut here. Esprit de Lumiere is a brother to a 1,000 Guineas winner and this looks like a sensible starting point for Joseph O'Brien's representative in the contest.
  1. Mount Tabora
  2. Whitsunday Islands
  3. Esprit de Lumiere
