Winner for Roger Varian in 2016 and last of three runs since joining current stable this term was more encouraging. Not without hope off career-low mark.
Winner of 17 races, including this contest in 2015. Needed his reappearance outing at Leicester and is feasibly weighted.
Landed a Chelmsford AW handicap in April, but has not been in the same form since. Back to her last winning mark, though, so dangerous to dismiss.
Runs regularly and can be a bit in and out, but no doubt that he is capable of going close if the cards fall right despite the suspicion that his rating is a touch high.
Not at his best on recent starts for Fergal O'Brien and starts out for a new stable. Well handicapped if the switch has a positive effect.
Good second on return to action at Brighton, but things did not go her way at Leicester where she was well fancied. Lightly raced and has scope for improvement.
Best effort so far when favourite and good second at Leicester. Up 1lb and has to go on the short list with even better expected.
Experienced campaigner who has eight wins to his name and has run at this course three times in four outings this year. Not much encouragement in those runs, however, and connections reach for blinkers.
Has failed to hit the frame in seven attempts, four of them for this trainer after leaving David Simcock's yard. Impossible to make a case for.
Forecasts
Makambe (7/4), Claudine (3/1), Andalusite (7/2), The Groove (15/2), Ravenhoe (14/1), Baashiq (14/1), Peak Storm (25/1), Pick A Little (25/1), Bob's Girl (40/1)
Most of these are exposed, but the two glaring exceptions are the three-year-olds CLAUDINE and Makambe. The former gets a narrow vote after not getting the rub of the green at Leicester last time. The Groove could hit the frame on his first start for this stable, while Ravenhoe could go close if on a going day.
- Claudine
- Makambe
- The Groove
