Ex-pointer who has finished well beaten on both starts for this trainer, including in a Stratford bumper in June; no conceivable chance.
€45,000 yearling, but knocked down for just 6,000gns as a juvenile. Started at sizeable odds and well beaten on both previous starts at this track (1m2f) during the winter months.
Half-brother to three winners including Petite Jack (1m2f-1m4f); 50/1 and missed the break when always in rear on debut at Kempton (1m3f) last month.
$100,000 yearling, but hasn't kicked on from a positive debut fourth of six at Wolverhampton in April (1m1.5f), and needs this step up in trip to bring about a good deal of improvement.
Shaped with clear promise on debut at Kempton (1m) in December, but not seen in competitive action for a further six months thereafter, looking as if he needed the race (1m3f); stamina reserves to prove.
Beaten 5L on debut (third) over 1m2f at Windsor in May, and ran to a similar level of form next time despite finishing further down the pack at Goodwood; half-sister to five winners; dam a 1m2f Listed winner and a half-sister to Oath.
Beaten favourite on both turf starts so far (1m2f-1m3.5f), but with merit in each of those efforts-latest defeat franked by the third horse (Saving Grace) winning since; sister to useful stayers Shantaram (1m5f) and Forever Now (1m6f); major player.
Unraced Motivator filly (out of Castellina); worthy of market inspection, but likely to need to be on her game at the first time of asking against some rivals with fair previous form.
Forecasts
Sacred Path (2/9), Laughing Stranger (4/1), Napoleonica (7/1), Qayed (8/1), Via Delle Volte (20/1), Cold Harbour (66/1), Game In The Park (66/1), Charles Vane (80/1)
SACRED PATH has a pedigree which suggests that this longer trip will play to her strengths, and despite being twice a beaten favourite at Goodwood and Haydock has the strongest form on offer in this race. She represents a leading trainer in John Gosden, and there's no reason as to why she should be hindered by the switch to Polytrack, so rates as a most confident selection, with the David Simcock-trained Qayed the likeliest alternative.
- Sacred Path
- Qayed
- Napoleonica
