Career-best when winning 12-runner handicap at Beverley (1m4f, good to firm) 10 days, shedding maiden tag in doing so. Up 4lb but yard in fine fettle and should go well once more.

Archipenko gelding left juvenile form well and truly behind with reappearance win at Chepstow (1m4f, good to firm) 13 days ago, should be capable of further progress on that evidence and respected under 4lb rise.

Dual-purpose performed with 2-21 record on the Flat, out of form in both codes during four runs this year, drops back in trip and needs the first-time cheekpieces to have an effect.

Maiden, couple of useful efforts lately including on Saturday at Hamilton when 2¾L third of eight over 1m3f (good to firm). May go well again if this quick turnaround doesn't catch him out.

Has been threatening of late, including when close fourth of six in handicap at Wetherby (1m6f, good to firm) last month. First-time cheekpieces are added here and needs to find extra.

Lightly-raced maiden hasn't mustered a challenge in two handicaps over shorter trips and needs to find generous improvement now tackling this more searching test of stamina.

Forecasts

Timoshenko (8/11), Claramara (5/1), Sincerely Resdev (7/1), Sentimental Gent (10/1), Enemy Of The State (12/1), Cosmic Tigress (12/1), Burn Some Dust (14/1)

Verdict

TIMOSHENKO has clearly improved from two to three-years-old on the evidence of his reappearance success at Chepstow recently. He did plenty of the legwork there but still held on well at the end when challenged and Sir Mark Prescott's charge is entitled to improve for the run. He looks hard to beat now. Claramara comes here off a breakthrough win at Beverley and should make a race of it, while Saturday's Hamilton third Enemy Of The State is also considered despite the quick turnaround. Sincerely Resdev is running some useful races just now and could pull out more if the new headgear has the desired effect.
  1. Timoshenko
  2. Claramara
  3. Sincerely Resdev
