Performances have improved since being ridden from the front. Not harshly penalised for his latest success and he has shown he can put back to back wins together.

Ran a big race from 5lb out of the weights here in May on good-to-soft. Failed to reproduce that on faster ground so conditions need to be monitored closely.

Yard having a good year, particularly with the horses acquired from Patrick Holmes. Backed into 5/2 ahead of intended start here three weeks ago, but was withdrawn after breaking out of the stalls.

Closely matched with Falcon's Fire on their Musselburgh meeting when suited by the return to a longer trip. Record of 1-38 does advocate a degree of caution.

11-race maiden has improved since stepping up in trip, but may have squandered an easier chance last time off 2lb lower. Faded in the closing stages at Ripon so possible this might be his distance.

Not far behind Falcon's Fire and New Abbey Angel last time when showing his first signs of ability. Now needs to build on that.

Yet to make the frame in seven starts. Pedigree and juvenile form indicate a preference for softer ground and her last run run at Redcar reaffirms that.

Half-brother to seven winners has shown little in three starts but earns a basement mark for handicap debut. More stamina on the sire's side than his dam's and the market should tell us more.

Life Knowledge (5/2), Blue Havana (5/2), Granite City Doc (4/1), New Abbey Angel (8/1), Falcon's Fire (9/1), Enemy Of The State (12/1), Fastalong (16/1), New Britain (33/1)

Verdict

Falcon's Fire had New Abbey Angel and Enemy Of The State behind in a tight finish to what looked a mediocre race last time. This may be little better but LIFE KNOWLEDGE represents a yard having a good summer and comes into this on an attractive mark. Fitness doubts are dispelled by the weight of money for him on his intended start last month when withdrawn at the start following a stalls incident. If none the worse for that he will take all the beating in this company. Blue Havana has been shaping well over 1m4f and the way she emptied out last time suggests this intermediate trip will suit.
