Dubawi colt, cost 300,000 gns as a yearling. Dam a juvenile winner and a Group 1 winner, half-sister to two more Group performers. This trainer and jockey combination won this last year and yard capable of readying a debutante.

Sea The Moon colt, half-brother to two winners and dam a sister to Group 1 winner Beat Hollow. May find this test too sharp and the fitting of a hood not an encouraging sign for his debut.

Dubawi colt, dam a Listed winner and half-sister to a juvenile winner who placed in Group company. Bred to want further than this but yard have a good record in this race and very much capable of readying one for debut.

Frankel colt, dam a Group 3 winner over 1m. Ran with some promise on debut and improved to finish runner-up at Salisbury last time but he's likely to need a big step forward to have a say in this.

Exceed And Excel colt, dam a winner and sister to a juvenile winner over this trip. Well beaten here on debut last month. Yard won this last year but he would appear to be down the order on jockey bookings here.

Kitten's Joy colt, cost $50,000 as a yearling and 72,000 gns as a two-year-old. Half-brother to a juvenile winner and dam a winner on dirt over a similar trip. Interesting debutante and yard should reveal expectations.

Dutch Art colt, dam a winner over 1m4f, sister to a Listed winner over 1m6f. Half-sister to a Canadian Grade 3 winner. May find this test sharp on debut but not ruled out, particularly if money arrives for him.

Mukhadram colt, cost 48,000 gns as a foal. Dam a winner over 1m, closely related to a Listed winner over 6f. Yard have a good record in this race and this looks a suitable test for his debut. Market may reveal expectations.

Scat Daddy colt, cost $750,000 as a foal. Half-brother to a Group 1 winner and a pair of Group performers. Dam a half-sister to 1,000 Guineas winner. Shaped with promise on debut and yard's runners often come on plenty for their first outing.

Galileo colt, cost 100,000 gns as a yearling. Full-brother to a winner over 1m2f and dam a Listed winner over this trip. Disappointed when odds on for his debut and likely to be seen to better effective when tried over a longer trip.

New Approach colt, cost 100,000 gns as a yearling. Full-brother to a winner. Dam a Listed winner over 1m. Yard do well with their sprinters and can ready one for debut. Interesting to see whether there's money for him on debut here.

Acclamation colt, cost €27,000 as a foal and 30,000 gns as a yearling. Dam placed in Listed class a juvenile. Others make more appeal on paper.

Mount Tabora (2/1), Art Du Val (4/1), Al Hilalee (7/1), Allmankind (8/1), Dombra (9/1), Machell Place (10/1), Journey Of Life (16/1), Nayef Road (16/1), Kuwait Currency (16/1), Al Mureib (20/1), Maqaadeer (50/1), Tru Grit (50/1), Sameem (66/1)

Verdict

Charlie Appleby won this race last year and he would appear to have a strong hand with his three runners in this year's renewal. William Buick is likely to have had the pick of the trio and ART DU VAL is a tentative selection in what would appear to be a hot maiden. Stablemate Al Hilalee is beautifully bred and rates as the type to go well but Mount Tabora could be the main danger with the benefit of experience on his side.
  1. Art Du Val
  2. Mount Tabora
  3. Al Hilalee
