Won two of his first three starts but he's on a 17-run losing streak since. Produced his best effort for some time at Windsor last month but may need relief from the handicapper before he gets his head in front again. Won't mind the drop back to 7f.
Not won for over a year but ran well in defeat at Newcastle last time out, unable to sustain his effort, held up off a strong pace. Returns on the same mark here and should be thereabouts, though perhaps vulnerable to anything well-handicapped.
Outpaced over 6f last time out but his previous efforts over this trip were encouraging. Two-time C&D winner from slightly higher marks in the past and can't be ruled out with De Sousa taking over in the saddle.
Inconsistent sort who has just won once in 16 starts for this yard. Hasn't won on ground this fast since 2013 and very disappointing at York last month when a never involved last of 16. Plenty to prove at present.
Won over this trip on the Rowley Course in May and dead-heated for first at Haydock in his follow up bid. Won his maiden over C&D and clearly effective here, as seen when only beaten ½L in fourth last time out. Possibly still more to come.
Won a York maiden on debut but has not won in 11 subsequent starts. Hasn't been able to build on an encouraging comeback run at York in May and he may want more of a stamina test to be seen at his best. Will need a strong pace to have a say here.
Two-time C&D winner. Not consistent, as seen when failing to back up his latest win at Ayr last month when sent off favourite. Needs a career best to defy this mark but not ruled out.
Forecasts
Swift Approval (4/1), Saluti (4/1), Maksab (9/2), Gallipoli (5/1), War Glory (11/2), Zap (7/1), Truth Or Dare (14/1)
SWIFT APPROVAL will appreciate the step back up to seven furlongs here and given that he's won twice over course and distance from official marks higher than this, he can get his head back in front with Champion Jockey Silvestre De Sousa on board. Maksab is another with course form in the book and can't be ruled out if he puts a disappointing recent run at Ayr behind him but Saluti could be the main danger in first-time headgear after a close up fourth here last time.
- Swift Approval
- Saluti
- Maksab
