Racing for the first time in six months when finishing a close-up third to the progressive Daira Prince at Ripon (1m1f, good) in June, but this step up in trip doesn't look to be a logical move on either pedigree or run style.

Massively reliable mare who is a four-time winner (7f-1m2f) from 11 starts; has inched up the weights to a career high mark after finishing 1L second to Lady Bergamot over 1m6f on the AW at Chelmsford.

Came up short in Listed races on her most recent couple of starts (1m2f), but ran respectably nevertheless. Yet to win beyond 1m, so definitely has stamina to prove on her handicap debut.

10/1
Back to form after a tame Goodwood effort (attributable to soft ground), with a minimum margin defeat by Panko at Leicester last month (1m4f, good to firm); up 3lb as a result, but open to further improvement after just five career starts.

Improving with racing, sweeping through the handicap ranks with back-to-back wins at Doncaster (1m2f) and Goodwood (1m4f); up a further 6lb in the weights, but has that winning mentality instilled so possibly not done just yet.

11/4
Frankel filly who cost 675,000gns as a yearling; taken time to come good and looks far from the finished article. However, she stays very well and having just done enough to score by a neck on handicap debut at Beverley (1m4f), a 3lb rise is fair.

Forecasts

Maid Up (5/4), Phantasmic (11/4), White Chocolate (9/2), Herecomesthesun (9/1), Albizzia (10/1), Dowayla (14/1)

Verdict

An interesting race for the fillies, with the thoroughly reliable White Chocolate inching up the weights for her consistent run of form. This potentially opens the door for one of the less exposed fillies. Albizzia ticks plenty of boxes with a below-par Goodwood effort attributable to soft ground, but PHANTASMIC looks to be a slow learner who could have plenty more improvement left in the locker. She needs to better her Beverley handicap debut win in this company, but as a daughter of Frankel (675,000gns yearling), she's fancied to continue to gradually up her game with additional racing experience.
  1. Phantasmic
  2. Albizzia
  3. Maid Up
