Possibly out of his depth in the Irish 2,000 Guineas in May but has shown plenty of promise in his previous career starts. Gelded since his last start and has strong claims if handling the track.

Forecasts

Would Be King (1/4), Indianapolis (7/2), Cloak Of Darkness (7/1), Pearl Delta (33/1), Patriot Affair (50/1), Jo Binney (50/1), Madame Fair (50/1), Nexxia (50/1), Little Camacho (66/1), The Perch (66/1), Arctic Edge (66/1), Duquesa Beach (100/1)

Verdict

Thought good enough to take a chance in the Irish 2,000 guineas, WOULD BE KING can get off the mark at the seventh time of asking following bold runs in Group 3 and Listed company for trainer-Ger Lyons. It's hard to imagine the Aiden O'Brien-trained Indianapolis will not improve on a dour debut here in April, giving the selection the most to think about. Godolphin newcomer Cloak Of Darkness in a first-time hood will be expected to finish in front of most of the field on debut.
