Took advantage of a drop in the weights to score at this trip at Wetherby, nicely on top at the finish and 5lb rise is fair. Course winner in the past, needs to overcome a poor draw here but in good heart and the follow-up not ruled out.

Only had the five starts so open to improvement, went close at Ripon in May and ran to a similar level at Windsor last time. Drop back in trip may not be a positive, but could get away with it on this stiff track and holds chances.

Good winner over this C&D last time out, coming through late to win with a bit in hand and a penalty here won't stop him if he's in the same form. Worry would be overall strike rate isn't great, but an obvious chance under these conditions.

Running well at present, winner at Nottingham (step up in trip working the oracle) and then running to same level back there last time out. Yard a bit quiet and a few have run below par lately but she remains in good heart and not discounted.

Has won off the back of a break, albeit back in 2015, so absence not necessarily an issue. Likes quick ground so a few of his back-end runs from last year are excused and from a workable mark, could go okay at a price.

Takes a big drop back in trip after some very moderate efforts and now connections reach for the visor as well to try and turn things around. It all looks a bit too much to take on trust, and others make more appeal.

Going nowhere quickly at present and was well beaten off at Beverley last time out. Races from out of the handicap here and hard to make much of a case for him.

Has been mixing Flat and hurdles but all to little avail at the moment, only finishing midfield in a weak Ripon seller last time and others simply look better treated here.

Looked moderate on first three starts but did a bit better on handicap debut at Beverley last month, upped in trip and stuck on for third. Gets plenty of weight here and open to improvement, nicely drawn and if settling better, could get involved.

Forecasts

Firlinfeu (9/4), Quoteline Direct (11/4), Military Madame (11/4), Alfred Richardson (7/1), Kilbaha Lady (12/1), Calvinist (25/1), Bromance (33/1), King Of The Celts (33/1), Calypso Delegator (66/1)

Verdict

QUOTELINE DIRECT did it nicely over C&D last time out and is taken to follow-up under a penalty. Alfred Richardson would be a big danger but for what looks a poor draw, but may get involved nevertheless. Firlinfeu might be open to a bit more improvement and is respected, as is Military Madame, who pulled too hard last time and is capable of better.
