From a stable in fine form but consistency is clearly becoming a problem for this one failing to build on a good penultimate run at Wetherby last time (7f). Ought to be able to win off a mark like this but is 0/8 on turf (2/19 AW); could bounce back.
Not seen this year and makes his first start for this yard (previously with Andrew Balding) having looked a difficult ride so far. Was an expensive juvenile so not totally written off bit hardly living up to expectations and best watched for now.
Well bred sort who was originally with Owen Burrows but hasn't as yet really clicked in handicaps for this yard (looks averagely treated). Steps up in trip again (last three starts over 6f) and the extra furlong may help (looked one-paced last time).
Looked the type to do something in handicaps when trained in Ireland (never really blossomed in that sphere) despite a couple of creditable attempts. With a new yard off a much reduced mark; trainer had two winning debutantes over hurdles of late.
Course winner here last year over 1m on testing ground off a 2lb higher mark she's been below form for the most part this year. Failed to beat a rival on her last start over C&D and struggling even off this career-low mark; cheekpieces on first-time.
Modest maiden who has run with credit this year without looking as though she is going to win soon; needs help from the handicapper. Dropped 2lb from her last effort at Wetherby (1m) and should have no trouble with this trip; place chance at best.
Has shown some speed over sprint trips but failed to show any progress on his handicap debut last time in 0-70 company over 5f here. Now upped in trip by 2f to the longest trip he's tried but has hardly done enough to convince so far.
Won a division of this race last year finally winning a race and providing the rider with her first and only winner so far. Looks to be running into some sort of form (went from the front last time) now; could really do with some give in the ground.
Makes her second handicap start dropped back 3f in distance having made little impression last time at Redcar (1m2f, good/firm). Failed to show much promise as a juvenile and hopes now rest on first-time blinkers and a yard in good form.
Forecasts
Ti Amo (13/8), Justice Pleasing (7/2), Mecca's Spirit (5/1), Jaalboot (5/1), Let Right Be Done (11/1), Quiet Moment (20/1), Travel Lightly (33/1), Bay Watch (33/1), Burns Supper (33/1)
Only a low-grade affair and hard to find many if any solid options in this will all the runners having question marks hanging over them. Justice Pleasing comes from the Roger Fell yard who are in decent form and although he’s not the most consistent he may be able to bounce back from a poor run here. Mecca’s Spirit is having a tough time with the handicapper but is more consistent than many of these and can hit the frame once more with last year’s winner Let Right Be Done also to be considered although the ground may be a little too quick. JAALBOOT up in trip looks the safest option with a market watch advised on Ti Amo from a stable doing well with new recruits.
- Jaalboot
- Mecca's Spirit
- Ti Amo
