Irish Stallion Farms EBF Brownstown Stakes (Fillies' Group 3)

Off time: 15:30 | Winning time: 1m 27.06s

(1)

Lincoln Rocks¹⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 9-8| J: D Tudhope| T: D O'Meara| OR: 104| D

8/1

British raider who was last seen finishing last of 11 beaten 33L at Royal Ascot. Best form has come over this trip at Lingield on good to firm when second of seven in a Group 2 contest. Not easily discounted.

Form: 95-3250

(4)

Xenobia⁴³

Age: 4| Weight: 9-8| J: Chris Hayes| T: W T Farrell| OR: 99| D

12/1

Ran well in a Group 3 at Naas in May following a win in a handicap at Leopardstown. Disappointing latest but will appreciate the drop back in trip here.

Form: 118-125

(7)

Lightening Quick⁴²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-3| J: Shane Foley| T: J P Murtagh| OR: 104| D

10/3

Won a Group 3 at Naas in May and there was plenty to like about her 5L defeat by dual Group 1 winner Alpha Centuri later in the month. Enters calculations.

Form: 18-16

(6)

Could It Be Love^b,t¹⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: D O'Brien| T: A P O'Brien| OR: 112| D

5/6

Second of 13 finishing 1¾L behind Alpah Centauri in the Group 1 Irish 1,000gns in May. Another bold show looks likely.

Form: 34-1823

(2)

Damselfly^t³¹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: Wayne Lordan| T: J P O'Brien| OR: 92| D

50/1

Solid and consistent in a number of game efforts since May but needs to step up on those runs to play a role here.

Form: 0-90853

(3)

Hence¹⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: Seamie Heffernan| T: A P O'Brien| OR: 100

7/1

Modest 101-rated handicapper who won a Curragh 1m contest in May. Can go well but may find one or two quicker in this contest.

Form: 264219

(5)

Wisdom Mind^t¹⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: Billy Lee| T: J P O'Brien| OR: 84| BF

20/1

Maiden winner at the Curragh a couple of starts back but she's failed to justify favouritism in two handicaps since and was well held at Royal Ascot last month. Others look more convincing.

Form: 4-21430

Forecasts

Could It Be Love (5/6), Lightening Quick (10/3), Hence (7/1), Lincoln Rocks (8/1), Xenobia (12/1), Wisdom Mind (20/1), Damselfly (50/1)

COULD IT BE LOVE has produced some gutsy displays in a couple of Group 1's this season including finishing second of 13 in the Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh in May. Beaten latest but not disgraced at Royal Ascot last month the War Front filly can get back to winning ways here. Probable improver Lightening Quick and the other O'Brien runner Hence can chase the selection home while British raider Lincoln Rocks from the David O'Meara yard deserves consideration.
