Inconsistent strong puller who had posted a similar string of results before popping up unexpectedly at Newbury in August. 5lb lower now and will get the pace he wants if in the mood.
His last three victories have all come off marks of 87 so a career best is going to be needed and he faces competition for the lead. Declared Doncaster 3:10 Friday
Probably needs a stiffer 7f such as this than was the case at Goodwood on his last two starts. The promise of a stronger pace helps and this is a good handicap mark for him on turf, although a 2-35 record on the surface tempers enthusiasm.
Game front-runner who took this 12 months ago but is now 17lb worse off with the runner-up Twin Appeal. Has improved since, but not by that amount, so he faces a tough test if that rival takes his place in the lineup.
Runner-up to Easy Tiger in this 12 months ago off 13lb higher. Returned to form at Musselburgh on Wednesday and a definite contender if those exertions have not left their mark.
Forecasts
Twin Appeal (11/4), Easy Tiger (3/1), Flavius Titus (4/1), Zap (6/1), Poet's Society (8/1), Charles Molson (10/1), Squats (10/1), Rousayan (20/1)
Easy Tiger and TWIN APPEAL were first and second in this 12 months ago and the latter is strongly favoured by the weights this time. Squats would be dangerous if the race develops to his liking, whilst Charles Molson is on a handicap mark that usually signals a big run. Flavius Titus and Poet's Society would require career bests in order to win.
