Consistent and on an upward curve until well held in a competitive 7f York handicap last month; again well held since at Ayr and both of his wins have come on good to soft ground so that's a slight concern.
All four career wins have come on the AW, including a claimer at Wolverhampton over 6f late last month. Went close in Musselburgh 7f handicap in May but has been a little disappointing since on grass.
Choisir filly going the right way, winning her previous two starts at Brighton over 7f, both on good to firm ground. Up in grade and carries and additional 6lb here but no reason to desert here currently.
Seems to be ideally suited by a fast racing surface, and whilst the handicapper has largely been in control he produced a solid runs ay Haydock and Ayr of late and should go well again.
Given plenty of work as a juvenile winning an AW handicap over 7f (in cheekpieces) before resuming winning ways in an AW seller over the same trip (no headgear) as a three-year-old. Shaped better (third) on second start for this trainer at Haydock.
Forecasts
Equitant (7/4), On A May Day (2/1), Montague (4/1), Three Saints Bay (6/1), Bezos (12/1)
Thriving filly ON A MAY DAY can defy the assessor again to add to her Brighton double for Mark Johnston as she hasn't been full tested just yet. Equitant has been in good form and will relish conditions, should be likely favourite fail to fire, while Montague and Bezos can be give some claims on their best recent efforts.
