Reverts back to hurdles after some goof efforts over fences, although has found winning one tricky. Trip and ground fine and a slightly lower mark to work from, so with yard still in excellent form, has to be one to consider.
Progressive last year when gamely landing a couple of handicap hurdles under conditions similar to today's, shaped nicely on reappearance at Southwell last month (weakened late) and if fitter for that, could easily get back to winning ways here.
Has found her form in a big way, winning back-to-back handicaps at Uttoxeter and Southwell and handicapper hasn't overreacted, putting her up just 7lb for them. Track trip and ground all fine and can't be ruled out in such rude health.
Seems to follow a good run with a bad one, so perhaps his flop when made favourite at Ffos Las last time wasn't to be unexpected after an easy win at Market Rasen the time before. This mark means he needs to find a bit more improvement.
Has plenty of ability but difficult to win with, and like many from the yard, predicting when a good run is coming is a game in itself. Conditions fine and comes here off the back of a solid effort at Stratford but no guarantees of backing it up.
Nicely handicapped now, being 1lb lower than her last win (back in 2016) but hasn't been seen out for over a year, and yard struggling for winners at present. Best watched.
Just the one win in 19 starts but on the plus side, that did come here (back in 2016) and she comes into this off the back of two second place finishes at Ffos Las and Uttoxeter. Slight question mark over trip, but that aside, holds a chance.
Has really turned a corner for his new yard, rattling off a hat-trick in quick time and looking a reformed character. Goes up in grade and trip here, both of which ask a new question, but very hard to discount given current form.
Won a couple of lower-grade handicaps last year but has done little since then, and hard to make much of a case for after a couple of lacklustre efforts this spring. Others readily preferred.
Forecasts
Mr Mafia (6/4), Petrou (3/1), Bodega (7/1), Western Sunrise (9/1), Kentford Heiress (10/1), Join The Clan (10/1), Lillian (11/1), Amron Kali (33/1), Very Extravagant (50/1)
With a recent run under her belt, better can be expected from LILLIAN here and she can be tough to pass on a going day. This track suits her well and she can get back to winning ways. Petrou keeps picking up the place money and should do so again here. With Mr Mafia likely to find it tougher here, preference for the minor money goes to Kentford Heiress.
- Lillian
- Petrou
- Kentford Heiress
