Not the same horse he was in his pomp (last win came off 82) and when he was registering five C&D wins. Was really just ticking over when last seen and best watched on his first run for a new yard who do have a good record with sprinters.

Wide draw doesn't make life easy for one who has already won over an extended 5f at Wetherby this year and ran well in a much higher grade (0-85) last time. Travelled well last time out and will be more at home here if copes with stall 11.

Cashed in on a falling mark over 5f at Catterick on his penultimate start looking well suited by the strongly run race. Has been successful off higher marks than he ran off there in the past and ran as well last time out over 6f; sure to run a race.

C&D winner who has fallen to a good mark partly because of his long losing run that is building up. Had the worst of the draw when not really landing a blow over C&D last time and not that better off today; needs luck in running.

Unreliable type who has been a little in-and-out this year (not unusual for him) but generally goes well for today's rider. Below-par last time out but more than capable of bouncing back if he's in the mood from a good draw.

Twice a C&D winner his form has rather an uneven profile since he came back to life with a win at Thirsk in May. Below form again last time at Ripon; usually likes to lead but far too risky to support here.

Given a chance by the handicapper she nearly took it at Doncaster over 6f on her last start producing a best effort to date. Travelling well for the whole race she was just beaten; yard/rider are in good form (chance back over 5f; well weighted).

Has six starts for this yard now and hard to find much encouragement in any of them even off basement marks. A wide draw in stall 10 won't help her cause either and she's easily passed over.

One of a few in this who are on long losing runs and although she ran one of her better races at Hamilton last time that was only in a selling handicap. More miss than hit and hard to build a case for even in this modest event.

Verdict

Not a strong event at all and it’s almost tempting to side with Canford Bay despite his difficult draw as he ran so well in defeat in a much higher grade last time out and this is far easier. Our Little Pony will be the choice of many here after her strong showing last time out at Doncaster but that was over 6f and although she has won over C&D that trip may suit her better these days. Twentysvthlancers would have a chance on his best and he’s well drawn with Paul Mulrennan who knows him so well taking the ride. In the end MR STRUTTER looks a little bit of value here as he didn’t run badly last time and returns quickly a well run and stiff 5f may be just what he needs to score again.
  1. Mr Strutter
  2. Our Little Pony
  3. Canford Bay
