Hard to fault his debut effort at Thirsk over 6f showing plenty to work on and splitting a far more prominently ridden pair. Kept on well from off the pace and with the winner wining again next time the form looks useful.

Just the one run under her belt so far which was needed but the kindness she was shown here under a considerate ride could be repaid soon. From a yard that are doing well with their juveniles this year she should show more here.

Debut runner by Kodiac out of a dam who was a winner at up to 1m who herself won over 6f as a two-year-old. Trainer runs two in this with the market to guide on their relative merits.

Filly by War Command who is a half-sister to several winners including the useful Compton Park (winner at up to 7f). Dam was a winner at up to 6f (won as two-year-old over 5f); first juvenile runner of the season for the yard.

Trainer 0-7 with two-year-olds the past five seasons (first juvenile runner this year). First foal by Zebedee out of a maiden dam who stayed 1m; best watched.

One of the more experienced in the field the tests that she have been given so far just haven't been stiff enough (lots of stamina on the dam side of her pedigree). Suspect she will be not seen to best effect until stepped up in trip.

Trainer 1-6 with his juveniles this year (yet to really get going) with this one looking to have a decent pedigree. Dam 5f winner who is a half-sister to three useful winners; worth seeing if the market speak for her.

Could well be the pick of the two representing this yard with plenty of winners featuring in her pedigree although looking at those she could do with a stiffer test than this. Dam (Time Away) was a Musidora winner; one to keep an eye on.

Half-sister to three winners from a yard which have had a couple of juvenile winners this year so far. Dam was a winner at up to 1m2f and half-sister to Group 2/St Leger second Midas Touch; may need a little time and distance.

Made little impression in the market on her debut (sent off at 50/1) but showed some ability and likely to really come on for the run. Yard are having a good season with their two-year-olds and she's unlikely to be her debut price here.

Half-sister to several winners including the useful winner at up to 6f Prolific with the dam a winner over 1m. Cost 150,000 guineas as a yearling and likely to be one to watch in the market here from a very capable yard.

The form of her debut at Ascot is proving strong and that showed her in the best light so far as she wasn't suited by how the race developed last time at York over 6f. Promise of her debut can't be ignored here and looks a leading player.

May well be one for the longer term as she's shown ability on both her starts but has been ridden with an eye to the future twice now. Has potential for the future and now hooded for the first time; might be one for nurseries soon.

First two runs showed very little but there was a glimmer of better to come last time out when she showed some of the speed in her pedigree. Not sure that 6f is what she wants with her pedigree and 5f will see her in the best light.

Made a very positive start to her career at Goodwood (chased home one who started favourite at Royal Ascot) but the drop back to 5f on her second run didn't appear to suit. Has the ability to win a race such as this; takes a leading role here.

Second runner in the race for the trainer who saddles his first juvenile runners of the season and both are expected to need the run. This one is a half-sister to three winners but will need some time to show her best.

Forecasts

Ascended (15/8), Swift And Sure (3/1), Scintilating (4/1), Showu (12/1), Posted (16/1), Sung Choi Bao (20/1), Ptarmigan (20/1), Kwela (25/1), Layla's Dream (25/1), Cool Kitty (25/1), Sufficient (33/1), Riverwing (33/1), Dancing Warrior (50/1), Cherry Cola (50/1), Winter Gleam (66/1), Isla Skye (100/1)

Verdict

There may be one or two useful sorts lurking amongst the newcomers here but experience often tells in these sort of events with SHOWU catching the eye in an Ascot event that has worked out well with her York run best excused. Swift And Sure is expected to build on two runner-up slots so far and looks a major danger along with Ascended who showed that she would be winning races on her debut. Cherry Cola and Riverwing give Mick Channon a strong hand in the race and it would be no surprise to see his two fillies come to the fore here. Pick of the newcomers could well be Posted although a stiffer test would suit her better.
