Looks quite nicely treated on the pick of his juvenile form and his last two starts have shown him well up to winning off this mark. No match for the winner last time out (versus a progressive sort) a repetition of that run gives him a chance.

Lightly-raced sort who has two good runs to her name this year showing up well on her handicap debut last time under a positive ride; beaten by one (Dizzy G) who runs later on the card. Should go well again; may have a rival for the lead this time.

Gradually slipping down to a mark where she can be competitive but does have to gather herself and some form together. Comes here off the back of a poor run on the AW some while ago and might need the run; others make more appeal.

A real mixed bag of form this year in a variety of events but the bottom line is that the losing run continues to grow. Ran his best race of the season last time on the AW but does need to build on that and that's not happened in the past.

His first run this year showed some promise when trying 5f for the first time at Bath before he was given some wind surgery. The return from that procedure wasn't as appealing (looked an awkward ride) and has something to prove now.

First run back from wind surgery having looked out of sorts prior to that in three runs so far this year. Mark has fallen to a career low but she hardly looks in any sort of shape to take advantage unless the surgery produces a dramatic improvement.

Failed to win last season but a respectable return was improved on last time over the extended 5f at Bath. Had the look of one who was building up to something better having now slipped back to his last winning mark.

Forecasts

Iconic Knight (11/8), On A Roll (15/8), Captain Ryan (8/1), Frank Cool (17/2), Look Surprised (20/1), Monumental Man (20/1), Taurean Gold (20/1), Dreamboat Annie (25/1)

Verdict

There are one or two in this that have the look of being able to produce something a little better than their recent performances. Iconic Knight would be one of that group with his last two starts being very encouraging and he looks capable of making his mark here along with On A Roll who is rather more unexposed. Those two have both been ridden positively though of late and there is every chance of them setting this up for a closer such as CAPTAIN RYAN. Now back down to his last winning mark it won’t be a surprise to see him improve on his Bath 3rd last time out.
  1. Captain Ryan
  2. On A Roll
  3. Iconic Knight
