Returned to form last time out only going down narrowly after battling on well with the eventual winner. Like to race prominently so often gets the run of the race (run style well suited to this course); 1lb below last winning mark.
A Flat record of 1-24 hardly inspires (last win came back in 2016) and two runs for this yard have hardly made it look as though that drought will end soon. Failed to come on for penultimate run last time in an amateur riders contest; best watched.
Lightly-raced for one of his age he shaped as if needing the race last time out (back from 8 months off). Blinkers now employed for the first-time as he steps up 4f in trip from his last run off a career-low mark; doubts remain about his chance.
Better known for his hurdles exploits these days he didn't run a bad race on the Flat last time at Yarmouth over a much shorter trip. Off the bridle early there he made hard work of things but the longer distance gives him more of a chance here.
Not scored for quite some time and he looks to be happy just to turn in modest midfield effort at the moment; he's just ticking over. Finished just in front of Dirty Randy last time at Hamilton but wouldn't be sure to confirm that form over 2m here.
Trainer is having a terrific time of late and this one has only had one run for the stable so far (finished last; 1m6f) when needing the run. Chance that the yard could turn this one around yet off a lowly mark but rates a tenuous proposition.
A light of former years he is a two-time C&D winner although it's now 25 runs since he was last winning. Now 9lb below his last winning mark he wasn't best suited by the way the race was run last time (needs strong gallop); place chance.
Not seen on the Flat since last summer at Newcastle (AW) over this trip but hard to say she excelled. Has been hurdling since then without any success and hard to fashion a case for her here even in this lowly grade.

Forecasts
Breakwater Bay (2/1), Gran Maestro (5/2), Dirty Randy (9/2), London Glory (7/1), Jan Smuts (10/1), Lots Ov (14/1), Ruler Of The Nile (16/1), Purdey (20/1), Dizoard (40/1)
Not a race that has any great depth to it and it should provide BREAKWATER BAY with an opportunity to improve on his Redcar 2nd last time out of a very workable mark. Gran Maestro looks a rather hard ride but this trip should suit him and he’s the type to be staying on for pressure with Dirty Randy sure to come on from his last run. Jan Smuts can’t be totally written off from a mark this low despite the rather lengthy losing run and Lots Ov could take another small step forward after showing minor promise last time.
- Breakwater Bay
- Dirty Randy
- Jan Smuts
