Harbour Watch colt made winning start in handicap company at Lingfield (6f, AW) in May, perhaps didn't relish big of juice in the ground since at Leicester having gone up 7lb. Has speed to be involved over minimum trip.

Two wins from seven starts on turf during 2017, both over 5f on good/good to soft at Goodwood and Nottingham. Final start in AW nursery at Wolverhampton was poor, gelded over winter and one to note on return.

Bated Breath filly does best when ridden forward, as shown with winning reappearance at Kempton (6f, AW) in April. Good ½L second of six behind Kodiac Express in handicap at Nottingham (5f, good) recently after poor start. Player here.

Notched an AW hat-trick in February and March (all over 5f), but his progress has seemingly slowed. Finished 4¼L sixth of 11 behind Kodiac Express in handicap over C&D last time, collateral form that gives him work to do with Puds and the winner.

Extremely likeable and consistent sort who has notched back-to-back successes of late including over C&D. Edged out Puds last time at Nottingham. Only gone up 2lb but had run of that race and the second may give her plenty to think about now.

Forecasts

Prince Ahwahnee (2/1), Kodiac Express (9/4), Puds (5/2), May Remain (13/2), Grandfather Tom (10/1)

Verdict

Kodiac Express is in super form and chases a hat-trick. She held off a late rally from PUDS last time after that rival hadn't made the best of starts at Nottingham. The latter is capable of reversing the form with a better start. Prince Ahwahnee isn't ruled out on this sound surface while the now gelded May Remain is worth keeping an eye on in the betting on seasonal bow.
