First run for this yard after he hinted at a revival on his final run for his old one; travelled well (better than most; weak finishing effort). Remains below his last winning mark but doubts remain about his ability to build on that run.
Scored over hurdles for David Pipe last October but his form in hunter chases for Sean Conway was moderate to say the least. Now back in handicap company for a new yard off his last winning hurdles mark; unconvincing sort.
Took a rather marked step forward from his reappearance producing a career best to win at Fontwell by 6L. Jumped well there in the main (scene of his previous win); now faced with an 8lb rise and a temperament that can be questioned.
Only a modest sort he looks as though he's been finding his form again over the past couple of runs. Failed to match a progressive sort last time but there don't appear to be any of that type lurking here and his mark looks very workable.
C&D winner over hurdles his chasing career for the most part has been a successful one (two wins from first three starts). A wind op helped with his latest win in May but his latest attempt was rather disappointing and he needs to bounce back.
Useful over hurdles/fences at his best when with Nicky Henderson he's lost his way with his current yard in both disciplines. Well beaten on his last start over C&D there's very little encouragement to be gained of late from him.
Chasing form under Rules leaves a lot to be desired although he did run a little better than usual over hurdles last time (only poor form). That run may have triggered some progression but hard to be sure and he's best watched; visor on first time.
Appears to have come alive for a change of rider and with the combination having taken the runner-up slot first time around they went one better last time. That win was his first; 5lb higher here but not written off.
Pops up occasionally and a return here (four-time C&D winner) is as likely to spark a revival as anywhere. Not seen for a while he's more than capable of winning off this mark and goes very well for this rider; risky but can't be ruled out.
Yet to be even placed over fences but there has been a hint of promise in his last few chasing attempts. Hard to go overboard about him but he is well handicapped on his old hurdles form and this sharp speed track may suit his run style.

Red Tortue (7/2), Boss Des Mottes (7/2), Code Of Law (9/2), Alizee De Janeiro (5/1), Trust Thomas (6/1), Reverse The Charge (17/2), My Renaissance (17/2), Bambi Du Noyer (12/1), Endeavor (12/1), Clondaw Banker (25/1), Roll Of Thunder (28/1)
This race is a poor one but for fans of low-grade handicap chases it will hold plenty of interest as a puzzle to unravel although it’s not an easy one to solve. Trust Thomas is one of the runners that has hinted at a revival of late along with the free-going Roll Of Thunder and both of those could be suited by this course. Code Of Law is saddled with an 8lb rise for his Fontwell win and that quirky track appears to suit him while Endeavor can never be ruled out around here especially with Brian Hughes back on board. Reverse The Charge appears to have found his ideal partner in Ross Chapman but with no progressive types in the field BOSS DES MOTTES can build on his Southwell second.
- Boss Des Mottes
- Reverse The Charge
- Trust Thomas
