Newcomer by Oasis Dream out of a dam who was a French Group 3 winner over 1m2f. Trainer has only had a few juveniles run this year (0/3) but is more than capable with two-year-olds; worth a market check.

Half-brother to several winners including those to have won at this age. Dam was a turf winner over 1m in America (aged four) who was a half-sister to a 6f Group 1 winner (Les Arcs). Nice enough pedigree; trainer 0/21 with juveniles this year.

Has now been well found in the betting twice now but failed to live up to those market expectations on both occasions. Ought to be able to produce more from a yard that is more than capable with their juveniles.
From a yard that are excelling with their runners in this age group this one offered plenty to work on from his first start at Ayr over 6f. Beaten by two with previous experience he's sure to show more with that encounter tucked away.

8/1
Lethal Force colt out of a dam who was placed over 5f on the AW but is well related to several winners. Yard still ticking along nicely with juveniles this season but don't have as many sharp sorts as they used and likely to need this experience.

Not really expected to show much in a field made of mainly newcomers at Newbury over 6f; started 33/1. Had already run his race when hampered in the closing stages and looks likely to come on for the experience.
Well beaten on both of his starts and finished last on his debut and didn't do much better on his second outing; both those runs over 5f. Now steps up in trip but likely to find this another tough task.

Made her debut on heavy ground at Salisbury over 5f and was far too green to show anything. Coped a little better on her second start (better ground) but would need a big leap forward here to be in the mix.

Newcomer from a yard that have had a good season with their juveniles (25% strike-rate). By Gregorian the dam was a maiden who stayed 1m but a half-sister to the useful two-year-old winner at up to 1m Duke Of Tuscany; market to guide.

Forecasts

Indian Sounds (11/8), Mr Spirit (4/1), Dark Shadow (9/2), Firelight (9/2), Bercheny (7/1), Masaru (8/1), Walela (14/1), All Back To Mine (20/1), Power Seeker (33/1), Champion Brogie (66/1)

Verdict

The debut run of FIRELIGHT looks better now in the light of the subsequent exploits of the winner (won again since) and she now moves up to a trip that will suit her better. Indian Sounds is another who is sure to have improved for his first run having offered a fair bit to work on/with from his Ayr debut. Dark Shadow has plenty to prove on what he’s done so far with the newcomer Masaru likely to need the outing. Given how well the Channon yard have been going with their juveniles this year Walela is well worth a check in the market.
