Won a valuable handicap at Leopardstown in September and course and distance winner in 2016. Handicapper has leniently put him back on his last winning mark after a couple of below par efforts at the end of 2017 and has leading claims with Moore up.
Course winner who has made into a useful stayer this season. Runner-up over C&D two starts back and handicapper has dropped him 2lb for his most recent effort. Not ruled out.
Winner on the Flat in France and running well over hurdles for this yard. Handicapper hasn't taken any chances with his opening mark though.
Just one win from 19 starts on turf and completely unproven over this trip. In good form this season but no obvious signs he's well-handicapped.
Not won on the Flat since 2016 on AW. Won over hurdles last time out but it's hard to imagine he's one of the better handicapped runners in the field.
Two-time Flat winner with the latest of those wins coming here over 1m4f. Has won over hurdles since and not ruled out if he can improve for the step up in trip here (never tried on Flat over 1m5f).
C&D winner back in 2015 and not beaten far over C&D last time when fourth of 13. Back on his last winning Flat mark as a result but others may prove a little better handicapped.
Lightly raced on the Flat and improved from his Flat debut at Tipperary to win a maiden at Leopardstown last time. Runner-up has franked the form and every chance he's on a fair opening mark.
C&D winner last time out and only 1lb higher here. That was his first start over 2m and likely there's more to come here.
Bounced back to form with a good second over C&D behind Jan Van Eyck last time out. Still feasibly handicapped on old form and likely to go well again.
Two wins from three starts this season but up 10lb for his latest outing and this is a tough ask in a deeper contest here. Never won from a mark this high and may have preferred softer ground.
A winner of the Galway Festival on soft ground last year. Back down on a reasonable mark but may have wanted some softer ground to be seen at his best.
Not won on the Flat since 2013 and has work to do to turn around the form with The Graduate and Jan Van Eyck from last time out. Useful 3lb claimer will help at least.
Just one win from 13 starts on the Flat and that came in maiden company back in 2015. Ran well over C&D behind a couple of these last time but likely to need more here.
Forecasts
Low Sun (10/3), Western Boy (5/1), Laws Of Spin (6/1), Clongowes (8/1), Top Othe Ra (8/1), Ancient Sands (10/1), Neverushacon (11/1), Apparition (14/1), Spruce Meadows (14/1), Jan Van Eyck (20/1), Weather Watch (25/1), The Graduate (25/1), Total Demolition (28/1), Magna Cartor (50/1)
LAWS OF SPIN is back on his last winning mark and won on reappearance last year. He's expected to be ready for this first time out and with Ryan Moore booked to ride, the five-year-old gets the vote. Clongowes finished in front of a couple of these last time out and shouldn't be ruled out while this longer trip on the Flat could suit Apparition who already has a course win to his name.
- Laws Of Spin
- Clongowes
- Apparition
