Had the run of the race behind a well supported favourite last time at Uttoxeter but proved that he has ability. Not badly handicapped as he makes his debut in this sphere (mark due to rise 5lb) and he's still unexposed.

Fell on the Flat in her last hurdles run when in the process of showing improved form at Ffos Las in a race where all the hurdles were removed in the home straight (low sun. Should be able to make her presence felt if none the worse for last time.

Looked as though during his qualifying runs for a handicap mark that he would need further and so it proved on his debut in that discipline. Ran a sound race on debut (now 5lb higher) but could really do with a greater test.

Stipulate15

Looks to be well handicapped on his Flat form but rather hard to weigh up over hurdles on what he's achieved so far and hasn't always looked fluent over obstacles. Looks a quirky sort who still has to prove himself over hurdles.

Has regressed rather quickly on the Flat and has just one standout effort to his name over hurdles which leaves him looking harshly handicapped on his debut. Not one to rely on and readily passed over.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-2| J: S Bowen| T: M Walford| OR:  102

Only had the five hurdles runs and still looks rather unexposed in this sphere although he remains a maiden on the Flat also. Ran respectably on the level last time and now returned to hurdles; stamina looked stretched last time over 2m.

Beach Breakb45
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-2| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr| OR:  105

Won a 1m4f maiden on the Flat and looks quite nicely treated on his handicap debut over hurdles having produced his best effort over them last time out. Should have no problems with track/trip for a yard that do well here; definite player.

Looked to have ability when with Jonjo O'Neill and now back running under Rules after a brief sojourn in Irish point-to-points with a new yard. Trainer is always to be respected with type as he returns off a career-low mark; very interesting.

Trainer always to be respected here but this one is proving hard to win with and looks to be rather regressive of late. Now dropped in the weights but others make more appeal after recent outings.

Irish challenger who is a lightly-raced maiden over hurdles; showed his first form in this sphere on his last start (tongue-tie on). Now makes his handicap debut looking the type to better but not overly well treated.

A dual winner on the Flat for his previous yard he's really only got one solid piece of hurdling form to his name when first fitted with hood to finish runner-up at Catterick. Well beaten here last time (may have needed the run); others appeal more.

Verdict

For the grade this is quite an intriguing contest with no standout performer and several in with a chance. Top weight The Phantom looks one who could improve for handicaps and the mare Silk Run was unlucky last time out when brought down on the Flat when showing improved form. St George’s Oval also comes into this although he could probably do with a stiffer test while Beach Break on his handicap debut is one to note looking well weighted on his Flat form. Perhaps the most interesting runner though is the Olly Murphy trained WALK WATERFORD back from a spell in point-to-points having looked as though he could be useful in this sphere when with Jonjo O’Neill.
  1. Walk Waterford
  2. Beach Break
  3. St George's Oval
