Won over extended mile here in March but hasn't run over this far for over four years. Stayed on over extended nine furlngs last time out, and makes debut for new connections at this longer trip.

Versatile gelding who won LIngfield seller on penultimate start over 1m2f. Struggled in handicap last time over 2m and drops back now to this trip but would be much better off aat weights in handicap and may find this tough.

Fair handicap form last term for Roger Varian but has changed stable twice since then . Won Catterick seller for Philip Hobbs earlier this month but was hampered start on first outing for new connections and never showed. Big chance if over that.

Dead-heated off mark of 84 in 2m handicap at Chelmsford in January but has run poorly in four starts since then. Drops back in trip and top amateur booked but may be a risky proposition even though favoured by race terms.

Well suited by this trip and won three-runner seller last time at Leicester. Around 20lb wrong at the weights on official figures so more improvement is needed. Yard won this event last year.

15-race maiden who has shown precious little over the last 12 months and runs here on distinctly unfavourable terms. Will do well to figure where it matters most.

13-race maiden who has shown regressive form over the last 18 months and would be far better off at the wieghts if this was a handicap. Yard going through a quiet spell so has it all to do.

Nearly two years since his last win in Thirsk 1m4f handicap, but went close in the Channel Islands two starts ago on debut for this yard. Less impressive last time but has top amateur on board for last year's winning stable.

Races for first time on AW in Britain and was decent third over similar trip at LIngfield in non-selling race last time. Has loads to find though on official figures but may give a good account of himself nonetheless.

Landed selling handicap hurdle at Catterick in December but hasn't shown much on the level since then. Last of eight at Ligfield latest and others are very much preferred.

Verdict

Question marks hang over just about all the runners here for different reason but the safest option may be BARNABY BROOK, even though he has to prove himself at this longer trip. St Malo and Vettori Rules are the two highest rated runners and are very much favoured by the wieghts, but come here in poor form so it's hard to be too confident about them. Belabour, Carthage, and Miskin cannot be ruled out although they have something to find on official figures.
  1. Barnaby Brook
  2. Belabour
  3. St Malo
