Won three times on Flat in Ireland for Tony Martin but failed to score in 13 attempts over timber. Made debut for current yard at Fakenham three weeks ago and was creditable second. Chance if reproducing similar effort.

19-race maiden under Rules beaten a long way last two starts over fences. Back to hurdles now and first-time cheekpieces applied. Not out of it on best of old hurdles efforts.

Showed little in first four starts over hurdles but appeared to be doing better last time at Fontwell when fourth. Seemed to down tools on the run-in that day though so looks a risky proposition.

Won twice on the Flat at up to a mile for Sir Michael Stoute but hasn't taken to hurdles in two starts to date for new connections. Others make far more appeal.

Signs of only modest ability in three starts so far for Evan Williams and makes debut for new yard with the change of scenery the main hope. Likely to need more time though.

Went close in Fontwell bumper last August and ran well enough when third on hurdles bow at Ffos Las last month. Chance if building on that foundation and may not be far away.

Ex-Irish 16-race maiden under both codes, makes British debut for new connections. Third in all three Irish maiden hurdles this spring so should win a race and this may be a fair opportunity to get off to a winning start.

Landed 1m4f Chepstow handicap for Henry Candy last summer but sold cheaply in November and hasn't shown much in two starts for new handler. Has work to do to get involved.
Very little form to speak of in four starts in bumpers and over hurdles so would be a major surprise if she is capable of making her presence felt.

Forecasts

Artful Artist (4/6), Railroad Junkie (5/1), Ballycamp (6/1), Freedom Chimes (6/1), Delirious Love (10/1), Mountain Chimes (25/1), Matravers (50/1), Murchison River (66/1), Dont Call Me Doris (200/1)

Verdict

There are question marks hanging over just about all the runners here so a tentative choice is ARTFUL ARTIST who at least ran well last time and will hopefully produce another sound effort once again. Railroad Junkie suggested he can win a race with a fair effort recently, while ex-Irish Freedom Chimes has a real chance if able to produce his latest running on this better ground. Ballycamp reverts back to hurdles and a bold show is not out an unrealistic expectation.
  1. Artful Artist

  3. Railroad Junkie
